Gail, I want to start off by saying thank you very much for all the support and Stockings. We have passed out about half of the stockings here at FOB Payne and we will be sending the rest out to our Marines at outlying areas and hopefully we can get some pictures of them too. I would like to say that the Marines were very happy, as you can see by some of the pictures. I would also like to say thank you from all of 1st Light Armored Reconnaissance Battalion for your gracious and everlasting support you provided to all our Men and Women serving overseas. It means a lot to get something from someone that has no connection to us and it just makes us remember during the holidays that there are still a lot of people that support OUR Military.
Thank you again and hope you like the pictures.
Hello, greeting from Chaplain Park of 1st Squadron 13th Cavalry Regiment, 1st Armor Division. Since October 2011 in Afghanistan, we have done a great job for Afghanistan security and our missions. Our Soldiers are so great. However, without your support and help these couldn't be done. Last couple months our Soldiers and unit were so great with your awesome supports. We appreciate so much for your supports. I hope you have a great Christmas with your family and Happy New Year! Next year also I pray that God keep you with his blessings for you work and your family. Again, thank you so much for your help and supports for our Soldiers.

Boatsie’s Boxes,On behalf of our section I wanted to take the time to thank you and let you know we have received some of your packages. We are working on getting good photo ops but wanted to get the platoon together before sending you pictures. Currently we are employed with operations to come but we are getting letters together to send back. We have enjoyed all the snacks, hygiene gear and especially the books and movies helps make the time go by. Thank you for the support it really helps in times like this especially for the Junior Marines being away for the first time. God bless and thank you again. Respectfully Sgt Tejeda, Alejandro
Wow Boatsie,
The stockings arrived today. You and your elves are going to make a great Christmas here in Afghanistan. We are going to make a Christmas stocking tree for the soldiers to come and get the stockings, I will make sure you get plenty of pictures!!
Again,
God Bless and thank you for your work!!

just wanted to say thank you so much, you have made a difference in many soldiers lives on FOB ANDAR. sorry, our internet will not let us up load any photos. just know that every stocking was much appreciated. thank you again. and God bless

Good Morning!!! We are all sooooo excited the boxes have started to arrive!!! Just checking will all the boxes come to Kandahar or to the other locations? I don't want to ship out boxes if you already have. AGAIN THANK YOU SO MUCH!!!! We are going to hand them out after Thanksgiving, and will send pictures!!
The soldiers really appreciate the quality and quantity of the items that you are sending and we appreciate what you are doing for us!! Everything that you send is gone within a couple of days, because they are items that rarely come to our location and are usually items that the BX does not carry. If you could hear the comments of the soldiers, "Man, I havn't seen this in months," or "Body wash!!" it is a great feeling to see them take their minds off of this place even for a few moments and thin of home. What you do is priceless!!!
Very Respectfully,
CH Clancy
Gail,
We received three boxes from you last week. It looks like they are full of blankets and they couldn't have come at a better time. It is only in the 50's at night but after surviving the summer and the 130+ days it feels downright frigid out here. We plan to get the blankets out to the patrol bases as soon as we can for anybody that wants a little bit of warmth. Thanks again for all you do.
Russ Ferguson
Greetings, We at the CASF received all the boxes of sheets and blankets today and just in time as the weather is starting to get colder. Thank you once again. You are amazing and I hope you have a great day!

Hello Gail,We are deploying again and I would like to add my name to your list. This will be my last deployment and I would like to say that your support has been unequaled by any agency that I have dealt with. This deployment will be for a year again, and will end around Sept of 2012. thank you Randolph Jones
Dear Ms. Van Vranken,
I want to personally thank you for the boxes of women hygiene products, shampoo, greeting cards, and the lot that you sent to our troops of Task Force Raven here in Kandahar, Afghanistan. Everyone was delighted, especially the women troops!! I see that you are in Wheeling WV and I remember my days living in Parkersburg WV very fondly. I was thinking about the fall and how I'll miss the trees changing in that part of the world.
Please know that your generosity and kindness are not forgotten. What you and your supporter do comforts our hearts and lets us know just how close to home we are. Once again, many thanks!!
Respectfully,

Thanks. Also I just received the Feminine products for my Soldier and they were all ecstatic to receive top quality name brand items (Always maxi pads). I must have received at least a dozen thanks because they normally get off brand stuff that they would only use in a dire emergency. I advised them that the donations came from your organization and they wanted to make sure I told you "THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU".

Gail,I just wanted to take a minute and tell you thanks for all of the items you have sent to the men and women of the 386 Expeditionary Medical Group. It truly is appreciated and makes a huge difference for our team. It was like ants at a picnic a few minutes ago and definitely put some smiles on faces!Hope you have a great week.V/R,GregGREGORY B. It was like Christmas when your packages would arrive and to have some of the comforts from home sent was truly appreciative. Thanks from the bottom of our hearts.
Sincerely, AMMO!
Dear Boatsie,
I want to begin by thanking you so much for what you do for our Soldiers all throughout combat theater. People and organizations like yours send a strong message to we, the Soldiers down range, that we are not forgotten and that Americans are supportive of what we are doing over here. Thank you for what you have already sent. It is exciting to see that what you already sent are things that we have been asking for from people back in the States to help our Soldiers. Please relay our thanks to everyone involved in this effort. God bless you for your generosity to American Soldiers serving down range.. I am a little late in writing this because in the last two weeks we had a Soldier killed and another one critically injured in a firefight with the Taliban. As the unit chaplain, I have been busy conducting a memorial service, providing "Traumatic Event Management" counseling as well as one on one counseling for those that were closely affected, along with the basic chaplain duties of bringing Soldiers to God and God to Soldiers.
I would ask, first of all, that anyone who reads this that is religious in their background, that you remember to keep our unit in your prayers. As stated, we have already lost one Soldier and the other one that was injured is in need of a real miracle and touch from God. It's questionable whether he will live much longer. Our unit has been here for two months and has already been in several skirmishes with the Taliban. I am very thankful that the equipment our Army gives us these days is holding up well. If not; there would be many more injured or killed. So for those of you that are believers; please pray that God keep His Divine Hand of safety upon us, and that He would offer each of these men and women a perfect sense of peace that only comes from the Prince of Peace, that He would give us the patience of Job, the wisdom of Solomon and the courage of King David. Most importantly, pray that each Soldier may possess the deep, heartfelt assurance that there is an eternal God who loves them without question, who is alway near and only a prayer away. CH Rod Gilliam
The boxes that were sent the last go round were awesome and was a welcome addition to the CASF. I know they put everything to use right away. It made me smile every time that I would drive there with my truck full of boxes. They showed up spread out over 3 or 4 days so it was fun to take them there and open them up and help sort the items. I know that even the hospital was able to use some of the items because they were running short as well so the CASF shared the supplies to help out.
I know they would love to have more blankets and sheets, this seems to be a short supply with them because of sending blankets and pillows out with every injured soldier bound for Germany. So I am sure that if you sent more they would love to have them.
I will be on R&R from 22 Aug till 11 Sept so anything sent would have to arrive before or after those days. It is time for me to head back to the states for a little recharge of my own.
I want to thank you again for taking on this challenge of helping out the CASF, it makes me smile that we have people in the US that are willing to do these things.

I too am from the Valley/Tri-State area, Smithfield, OH to be exact and I graduated from Buckeye Local High School. I still remember going to the big OVAC game when I was younger and even had the opportunity to be in the band, the dance line, and in the Queen of Queen Competition by the time I graduated. Now I am here serving our country I still make time to come and speak at the local schools and organizations. It was a fresh breath of air to see a little taste of home thank you for all your support you are amazing.

Boatsie,
We are now 100% Boots on the ground here in Afghanistan. My commo is also up so I can communicate with good folks like you back home that are doing so much to support our Soldiers over here. I want to thank you Boatsie, from the bottom of my heart and on behalf of the Soldier's of my unit for your organizations very generous outpouring of love with care gift items. Where we are located has no store so the only ability that we have to get toiletry/hygiene items, snacks, reading material, ect is limited to what we recieve in care packages back home. I want you to know that the Care packages that you sent our unit - I forwarded on to some of our really remote combat outposts - where Soldiers are begging for things like soap, shampoo, shaving stuff, ect. Your organization is a huge boost to our Soldiers. If your organization should send any more - the stuff that you are already sending is perfect. If anyone wants to throw in washcloths (since we have none) that would be nice seeing as it is needed. I have taken pictures but it appears that I have misplaced the cord that goes from my camera to computer for me to download the pictures. I am working on correcting the problem shortly. At any rate; we are very greatful for your efforts. Please relay our gratitude to all of your people for us. God bless you Boatsie,

Thanks to all of you at Boatsie's Boxes,
I was very surprised to see the boxes our Command CMSgt Herring brought to the living quarters the other day. I am very grateful and want to say a sincere thanks on behalf of the guys & gals of the 738th AEAS.
This organization is actually a NATO base and comprised of 41 countries at this time. We are the unit that lost 8 USAF personnel and 1 retired Army civilian on 27 April this year. We have moved on and doing our jobs 110% just like good Americans always do and always will. just wanted to thank you we recieved your package the other day i made eveyones day thank you
I wanted to let you know too that I noticed our friends from Croatia, Italy, Portugal and Mongolia do not receive mail, letters or any care packages at all. I was saddened that their countrymen and women do not have a way to send care packages to them. They are our allies, even though the behavior of some of their governments would say otherwise, so I shared some things to them and the guys in our building from Croatia, Mongolia and Portugal have been smiling for the last week when they pass by us Air Force types... :-)
The NATO forces from Romania and Belgium were the ones that went into the Afghan compound where the attack took place as a quick reaction force, and loaded all the US personnel into their vehicles and took them to safety. **Thank you Belgium and Romania security forces!!!**
In closing, I commend you all for being true patriots of this great nation and please keep up the good work.
Sincerely, MSgt Kevin Leukhardt, USAF
I received the box yesterday with the snackes and shirts and brought them to the CASF last night. Everything was a hit and was much needed. They were running low on snacks and said that the box showed up at the right time and let them breathe a little easier for a bit. They loved the shirts and have already unpacked the box and putting them in line to start handing out when injured personal are brought it.
I know they are excited about the next shipment coming in with all of the pillows, sheets, towels and such. They said they are in dire need because they have run out of pillows and blankets right now so that will be a warm welcome.
Thank you again so much for doing what you are doing and I know you will get paid back in spades during your life time.

I just want to take a moment and let you know what a good thing you are doing. I am a civilian working in Afghanistan flying the troops to forward locations. I am based in Bagram and on a resent flight the Air Force asked if I could carry some of your boxes to one of the forward area's, How could I say no. For most of the guys there it was the first sweet thing they have had that didn't come out of an MRE. I must say, You are doing a really good thing and the troop appreciate it. I’ve been in BAF for only one week and still adjusting to the food, air, sleeping, and other various aspects of being deployed. Boastsie, I received a care package from you today. It was a box of hats, socks, and waterproof spray. This couldn’t have arrived at a better time. The patrol bases received diesel heaters but no fuel or accessories to make them work (typical of our supply chain). So I will send out these hats, socks and gloves today, they will be thrilled. The canals have a sheet of ice on them at night and the Marines cross them (some waist deep) in order to avoid IEDs. The socks will be a treat for them. We have been very fortunate with IEDs in our area of operations. We have found 140 IEDs in the past 2 months and only had 16 attacks that inflicted damage. Other units have not been so lucky. This is from the Marines being tough and doing the right things (wading through mud and ice water). The warming layers you sent will help ensure that they will stay warm and comfortable when they return to their patrol base. Thank you, God bless, and Happy New Year. 1stLt Bonenberger, Ryan MExecutive Officer 2/1 Echo, COP Rankel Garmsir, Afghanistan

Thank you for all your support to me and my Soldiers. everything you have done has brought a smile to their faces thank you for everything. I will not forget all of your support. Thanks you again. To all involved,
Sorry so late. I would like to extend my sincere thanks for making mine and my team's Christmas as enjoyable, caring and close to home as possible. It is nice to know that people back home can take time away from their busy schedules and families to send some joy to us U.S. Military personal stationed overseas in a War Zone. Your generosity and love made us all feel a little less lonely and filled our hearts with the Christmas spirit.
Again, thank you for all you do and I hope you had a wonderful Christmas and New Year.
Attached are photos of our Soldiers receiving the stockings you sent. Thank you so much! They were appreciated very much. we were even able to have them delivered by Santa. One section thought it would be funny to surprise a Soldier with some coal in a stocking. He got a good stocking after the picture was taken. Some of the photos are actually taken out at our various check points with Soldiers on duty on Christmas day. I made sure that if our Soldiers were going to be working on Christmas day that I would be working too and that our ministry team would go out to give some Christmas cheer to them. Your stockings truly brought some joy to our Soldiers. We wouldnt have been able to do it without your support. Thank you so much.

Hello.
I had the opportunity to be stuck at Salerno between flights while the dining facility (DFAC) was closed. I was out of food, and the only thing in the Passenger Terminal (PAX) was two boxes of candies. My Pancreas will forever love you, as the candies consisted of my dinner and breakfast! I found your business card at the bottom of a box, and decided to share with you a few photos. Two pics are of the boxes in the PAX and the third pic is of the sign welcoming you to Salerno. Salerno is on the Eastern edge of Afghanistan, and roughly in the middle (North/South) of the country. Salerno is about 10 miles from the Pakistan border.
I don't know if the candies were from your organization. If not, you should consider sending them along with the other goods you send over.
Thanks for caring!

Boatsie, My name is Ryan Hayde and I am an A-10 pilot stationed at Kandahar AB in Afghanistan. I received one of your generous stocking for Christmas and I wanted to pass along my thanks. It is very tough being gone from home (for some of us it was the 2nd in a row and other about the 5th missed Christmas). These thoughts from home really make a big difference in our lives over here, knowing that people are thinking about us. I appreciate the support that you have given to all of us. Have a very Merry Christmas!! APE Capt Ryan "APE" Hayde 451 AEW, Chief of Weapons and Tactics Kandahar AB, Afghanistan Ms. Gail,
I am the commander of an A-10 squadron here in Afghanistan, and I wanted to personally thank you for your kindness towards all of us. The gifts were perfect, but the thought that someone would dedicate so much of themselves to our support is what is so awesome. Many politicians and even regular citizens get wrapped around the axle regarding the justice of the war, whether we are executing it well, or whether or not the military is to blame. It is refreshing, however, to see military members for what they are—citizens from towns across the country who are just trying to do what is right, exercise a bit of patriotism, and support the country. We don’t have time to focus on the political meanderings of Washington, only to do our job the best way we know how, and want to come home to our families as soon as possible. Your kindness seems to recognize the regular nature of each of us, and that means a lot to be seen not as ‘them’ but as other Americans who hate to be away from home as much as the next guy. Thank you so much for your thoughtfulness, for your supreme act of Christian love, and for being a great American. I don’t know you at all, but I can honestly say that I love you for what you have done, and continue to do. Please pass on a thank you to all of your other volunteers. They are really heroes, as they typify what being an American is really all about.
Merry Christmas,
Woody
Lt Col Derek Oaks

Thank you from Afghanistan for the wonderful stockings we were able to pass out to our troops. My Commander and myself got back late Christmas eve from a site visit to one of our other areas of responsibility and our first task when we arrived was to put out everyone’s stocking. We had already set out stockings at the other location earlier in the day. Of course our morale area was full of people enjoying Christmas eve together, watching movies, and enjoying each other’s company so it made it tough to secretly hang their stockings. As soon as they caught on I had to gently remind them not to open their stockings until Christmas morning. Your kindness and thoughtfulness is much appreciated. Sometimes the gesture of a complete stranger is as meaningful as those we receive from our families and loved ones. Christmas is probably one of the hardest holidays to be deployed over and your people have made it special for the troops in this Command. I certainly hope you have had someone extend to you such a wonderful gesture as you have done for us this holiday season. Enjoy your time with your family and friends and thank you for keeping all of us in mind.

Boatsie,
Merry Christmas to you and all who support our Airmen, Soldiers, Sailors and Marines; especially those deployed. On behalf of the 386th Expeditionary Medical Group Airmen; I would like to sincerely thank you for your generosity and charity this holiday season. We held a ‘make your own Christmas cookie’ morale get-together and were able to hand out the wonderful Christmas stockings and tasty bag of goodies to all the medics and also the wounded warriors in the Contingency Aeromedical Staging Facility awaiting return back to the United States. In the stockings were also beautiful Holiday cards. Mine was from the lovely Janke Family from Grafton Ohio… may God give you all a special blessing this Christmas season! Even though we were not able to celebrate the holidays with our family and friends back home, we celebrate with them in our hearts and give thanks to all the outstanding Americans like yourselves who bring ‘home’ a little closer to us through your generosity. Merry Christmas, Happy New Year and God Bless,
Parker

I just wanted to send a quick thank you for the boxes of stockings full of goodies. It’s always hard to be away from the family as it is, but the holidays make it even worse. What you guys do for all of us is wonderful, especially for my guys here that don’t have families back home sending them packages. The real story is about the time, energy and expense you incur and expend. The rest of us are just doing our job in a less than perfect environment. The joy and happiness your efforts provide to the troops is immense. Most of the troops are really surprised and grateful that someone like yourself, someone they have never met, would do what you do for them. On behalf of all the troops you have provided "Boatsie Boxes" for, Louis also said not to forget the Cracker Jacks, THANK YOU Steve
Thank You Ackerman Family for the wonderful stockings. The boys and I truly appreciate it. It means alot to us to know that people back home still care about us Soldiers over here in Afghanistan. Good Day,
I wanted to ask if your program had any operations going on in or around San Antonio, Texas? I would love to get involved with this once I return home. The spirit of what you do is felt all over here in Kuwait and the Gulf Theatre. You do more than just provide simple support and gifts. You lift spirits and provide a touch of home to those so far away from the ones they love.
Thanks, Ray
I just wanted to send my thanks for the Christmas stocking I received today. It’s really hard to be away from the one’s you love especially around this time of the year. I am currently deployed in Kuwait and I’ve been here since July. Thanks again for the stocking, and supporting the troops!!! SSgt Zalewski
Mrs. Van Vranken,
I wanted to send you an email to say thank you so very much. I was the recipient of one of you lovely Christmas stockings. I am currently deployed to Kuwait. I have been here for about 2 ½ months. My home station is Aviano, Italy. I am 33 yrs old and have a husband. We have been married just under 2 yrs. He went back be with his family in NY while I am deployed. I really appreciate your kindness. I have to tell you the stocking of goodies could not have come at a better time. I just found out that my grandmother passed away on Wednesday, 8 Dec and I am not able to go to the funeral since grandparents are not considered immediate family members. I’m having a hard time with it but your Christmas stocking sure brought a smile to my face during this sad time for me. So from the bottom of my heart I really want to thank you for what you do for all of us that are deployed.

I wanted to say thank you from the 777 EPBS, we received the stuff you had sent. It was heartwarming to see the package from West Virginia. I am from New Hampshire but I am a 2005 graduate of West Virginia Wesleyan College, so West Virginia has always been my second home. I want to thank you and everyone that has supported what you are doing. Thank very much from 777 EPBS, what you have done has help to keep our troops motivated. As soon as our December Newsletter comes out I will shoot it your way.
Thank You Josh Hussey
Boatsie, My comrades and I are currently stationed out of Al Mubarak, Kuwait, and we greatly appreciate the thought, care, and devotion that went into making these stockings for us! We’re here until March, so we’re missing all of the holidays away from our families. Kind, selfless acts such as these keep our spirits up though, and greatly boost our morale, for we know that we have amazing support back home. There are no words that can express the gratitude and emotion that we felt when we got these. J Thank you so much, you’ve made our holidays just that much better. Sincerely,

Dear Gail,
Hi, my name is LT Eva Patterson and I am one of the fortunate Soldiers that received some items out of one of the care packages sent for the Soldiers stationed at FOB Walton, Afghanistan. I can't begin to tell you how much it means to know that we have support from the U.S. It is always important to see the support but even more so during the holidays when the Soldiers are away from their families and loved ones. Again, thank you for your continued support and generosity. I wish you could have seen the smile on my Soldiers faces when they were opening the boxes.

Thanks for all the stockings we just received! We appreciate the support but we have just been told that our FOB is closing down earlier than expected. The closure could begin as early as the first week of January. (To prevent mail being sent to an address that no longer exists.) Unfortunately, we do not have a new mailing address yet.
Thank you so much for all your support!

I received the box of razors and snacks, and also a box of stockings yesterday. Thank you very much, I will distribute these items in the next day or two to the Marines.

Hi Gail,
Thanks so much for the overwhelming support we are getting from you. We received the boxes of Christmas Stockings and are setting up for the big give away in a couple of weeks.
Looking down on the list below, we could use Army socks and white socks, and female hygiene items razors and bodywash. And of course snacks and candy.
As we are prepping to give away the stockings, we are short approximately 200 stockings for all in Task Force Slugger to receive. Is it possible for you to send 200 more Christmas Stockings? Thanks so much, you have no idea the positive impact your organization has on Soldiers.

Hi Boatsie, Just returned from R&R. We received 7 boxes. Lewis says thank you for the cracker jacks. Thanks you for the Xmas items and cards. We really appreciate the things you provide. Again, thank you Steve
Dear Boatsie, We received 5 boxes of Christmas stockings here at the ASP in Bagram within the last couple of days. We only opened a couple of boxes to see how many were in them and will pass them out nearer to Christmas.
I found some posters from some school kids and taped them to my office door. The troops think that they are pretty awesome and have made remarks that they would like to write back to some of these kids. I know the stockings have letters in them, but are there addresses for the troops to write back to these kids?
It is such a nice thing that you are doing for the troops and for my unit. We just took over from LT Lynema and her unit and I noticed they were getting candy and goodies from Boatsies and I would like to carry on that tradition.
Thank You Very Much,
CW2 Christopher C. Garcia

Ms. VanVranken,
Wow! We received 4 boxes choked full of all kinds of good dental supplies, soap, shampoo, and other get clean stuff. Thanks so much. We were really hurting for those items. My wife sent me a box from Germany. As soon as it got here, it was gone! Like two hours. I'm sure with the plentiful abundance of items that came in from you, we should be set for a month or two.
Thanks so much for all that you do. You are a blessing to us all.

Boatsie,
We received two boxes shipped 9-9 today. They were full of soap and dental care items, just like we needed. We are still in a deficit and the items are already half gone that we got today, so it's good you're sending more.
Thanks again and God bless,

Hi, First I want to say that we received your last boxes. On behalf of the troops, I want to say thank you. A guy that works with me was disappointed that there wasn't any Cracker Jacks. We smoothed out his emotions as we still had the big jar of pretzels that you had sent before. He was happy with them. In any case, yes we can use CD,s. As I have told you before, we have a very sparse living environment. I know that the troops would enjoy them as they cannot buy any here. Thank you and your family/organization for all that you do. Steve
Boatsie, I received two boxes yesterday. One was shampoo and the other was gift bags of Mary Kay. While the shampoo was welcomed by several guys that I didn’t think had enough hair to wash but it made them happy. But that was nothing compared to the excitement of the ladies when we made sure each one got a gift bag of Mary Kay cream. Please pass along our sincere thanks for the support. It is nice to pass around a bit of cheer. Glenn GEORGE G. DOBY, CMSgt, USAF
I got your box with all the food. Thank you the soldiers loved it. Everything is going great here the weather is cooling down finally and we are pretty much at our steady state of operations now. My son started kindergarten this year and he is doing great. My wife recorded him reading his first book it was great to see that. Well not much else here at this end. Take care and thank you for everything.

To tell the truth, we are wore down. We have been none stop everyday that I have been back. Not to go into detail, but we still get attacked every other day. If not every day. Some days its might be a pop shot, or an IED, other days it indirect Fire on to our camps. We had 9 of our guys get hurt Monday, Most are going to be ok. Sad to say, one will lose his leg. You never see things like that in the news anymore. It seems that something really bad has to happen to the Afghans to get reported. We are keeping our sprits high, my guys have not slowed down a bit. Just another day at the office for them. The care packages could not come at a more perfect time. The hours that we have been working prevents us to gat at the Mess Hall. Not that it's worth eating. My wife send some cup of noodles and Hamburger Helper bowls. That kept us going the past few nights. Thank you so much for taking the time out of your busy day for us. The guys really appreciate your hard work. Six more months, it should feel like its downhill from here but it don't. Every day if feels like ground hog day. Here next month, we have to move. Again, can't go in to too much detail, but we are getting a new building, another unit is coming in and taking our old one. It's the same FOB and our address don't change. I have rambled on enough, I have to get back. Thank you for all that you do Chris Hello Gail - Thank you so much for your last shipment. I am sending everything out to 3 different Forward bases today. As always, thank you so much for what you do. Everyone is truly grateful.
MSgt Evarts Dear Boatsie, Update at this end we are doing great here things are looking up we now have the navy see bees here to help build up our area and put up more buildings to work and live. The weather is now reached 130 degrees yesterday. Other then that not much else going on here. thank you for everything.
Tommy
Dear Boatsie,
Thank you for the box with shirts and mouse pads from the purple people bridge. I just got back from our last mission with my Soldiers we were out in local villages building hospitals and schools. It was a different look for the war. Some of the soldiers are running a little low on some of the items you have. They would like to receive tooth paste, body wash, blank sound greeting cards, dried fruit and also some microwavable lunches and dinners. We really do appreciate everything you are doing for us. The weather is getting hotter out here today it was 115 degrees and in July and August it will get hotter. Thanks for everything.
Tommy
Boatsie,
Just wanted to write a quick note from me and my troops. Thanks so very much for the microwavable meals, jerky, and nuts. These items came in at the perfect time. Also those med pads are a life saver as well. Once again we send our thanks.
Longer letter to follow later.
Hello – I wanted to take a moment to thank you all for your extremely generous packages you sent for us here in Afghanistan. All the items you all sent are exactly what was needed. Some of the locations we operate in are remote and have limited access to buy toiletries or basic necessities so everything we get goes to those locations. I have included a few pictures of our Airmen digging in to the boxes we sent as well as some photos of the location they are at for you to see. I will send a couple follow on e-mails with additional photos. I can’t include them all in one message due to the size of the picture files. The neck coolers that were sent come at the perfect time since temp’s in some locations are reaching the 110’s in the shade. As you may notice from the photos, we normally wear our body armor so any bit of cooling assistance helps. Thank you! Additionally, the water bottles were a HUGE hit, the filtering bottles are perfect for use here. As you also notice, we regularly interact with local children so the Frisbees and baseballs go a long way to forge positive relationships in the local communities. We truly appreciate all of your efforts and support to us here. Receiving these packages go far to make our months (sometimes our year) here easier. These little bits of home keep morale high and life here bearable. Once again, Thank you all. I look forward to our continued relationship in the coming months. V/R, MSgt Evarts GORDON B. I got your box today. WOW you send the BEST STUFF!!! Thank you for all the great items. My guys will love this stuff. Can you send a few boxes with the same. Possibly with some of the following as well.
Some with snacks such as ramen, individually packaged food items, single drink mixes (Fruit punch, Tropical punch etc.)
More body wash also, my guys have nowhere to get it out here except from me.

Hi, We received your 4 boxes. The troops really enjoyed the items and shirts sent. As a matter of fact, we are down to a box and a half of shirts. If you happen to get anymore of the magnifying glasses again, we could use about 5 of them along with large calculators. If you get any they would be appreciated. The troops and those working here thank you for all that you do. Thanks for making their lives a little better. Steve
Ma’am,I wanted to tell you thank you very much for all of the wonderful things that everyone put in the box. I just received it this morning, your late night. We are definitely going to be able to use all of it. Thank you again for your thoughtfulness.

Gail, Thank you for the all of the Cards and the Wash Clothes and Soap. I have distributed these to the wounded warriors here aboard Camp Leatherneck Afghanistan. Sincerely, Sgt Major Neil O’Connell
Boatsie- Thanks for the care package that included girl scout cookies and gum, I sent a few boxes (6) over to the Air Force and they were so grateful. The young man I handed a package of cookies to, had said that was very thoughtful and shook my hand. Very gracious service members here @ Ali Al Salem Air Base.

We received a bunch of snacks this week. I just wanted to say thank you for thinking of us. Thanks, SSgt Tim Davis USAF AMMO
Thank you so much for support. We will cease our mail service in the next 30 days so this will be the last shipment we can receive. Your support at Christmas with stockings and supplies at other times has been immeasurable in the amount of morale and basic welfare you have provided. It is with no insincerity or simple repetition that I say, "May the Lord bless you." Thanks, CH (CPT) Jerald Bass
Boatsie- I just want to share my views on what you do and the lives you touch. I cannot think of a more wonderful and warm way of saying that "we're behind you 110%". It gives me goose bumps to know what you do Boatsie, for all of us, especially the men and women on the front lines, in the war on terror. I am blessed to be affiliated with you and blessed to be an American. Thank you for all you do and the lives you touch. May God bless you all and all the special folks @ West Virginia for their help and continued support.
Just want to remind you how you're making a huge difference..............

Thank you very much for the cookies and other assorted items sent so far. The Soldiers are loving them. Something about Girl Scout cookies puts a smile on everyone's face. Thanks so much. More letters, and photos are enroute to you all.
Thank You SFC Robert Atkinson
Boatsie,
I received your box. Thank you so much for the razors and clippers they work great out here. We already gave 22 hair cuts with them. All girl scouts cookies were eaten up in a couple of days. Again thank you for everything you do for us.
Tommy
boatsie,
I received your boxes yesterday. Thank you so much for all that you sent. The Soldiers love it they wanted me to pass a very big thank you. Everything you sent was perfect. We are now set for all the personnel hygiene items. The only other thing that some Soldiers asked for was some Gillette fusion power and regular razor blades. Other then that we are good to go on all items for personnel hygiene. The goodies box was great with the drink mix. They would like to see if more could be sent out like Cool Aide and Crystal light. Again Thank you for everything
Tommy
Pat , Caroline,
Thanks for the great care packages that you sent to us all here at Camp Leatherneck. I passed them all out to the warriors. They all are very grateful and sincerely appreciate your kindness and generosity.

I've received your latest shipment. The company was greatly appreciative as was I. We're going to start packing up soon, so you can stop sending packages. I dont want to take the chance that you send one, and I never see it. Thanks for all the support you have shown us, it was really thoughtful. It makes people out here realize that there are some people that still care. Thanks again

As well, thank you for the 4 boxes that came in yesterday. There are several items that we needed right away. Mail has been slow for about 2 weeks. Thanks for all you do. You guys are great!

By the way, we received a box today. Thank you, it was perfect. It was full of all kind of good stuff. EVRERYTHING will be used. 3 days ago we were attacked and lost two friends. They are out on a COP that has very little. I packed the box that you sent and some stuff that I had here, and pushed it out to the guys. They needed it more than me. If you would like to know more about what happen, Google or Yahoo search ( Attack Khost Afghanistan ) or click this link. http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/35774774/ The title will say, "Taliban claim suicide attack on NATO-Afghan base" I can't say anything about it, but I can give you news links that are already out there. Please add us to your prayers
Thank you so very much for supporting us. SSG Pelfrey
I just wanted to send a note to let you know that we got the three boxes you sent our way and they were (as usual) just wonderful! Evidently, most of the Soldiers had worn thru all their PT socks because the white crew socks were gone within the first ten minutes of me putting them out on the counter!! Chocolates too! And the magazines and books will join our (very old) library as welcome additions. Peanuts, chips, crackers, and canned chicken went fairly quickly as well. And I was surprised to see so many of the troops thumbing thru the Mother's and Father's Day cards. We are no where near a PX so these will come in very handy in May and June.
I just can't say enough about your wonderful organization and really appreciate what you do for our Soldiers. Many of these young men are barely 18/19 years old and away from home for the first time. Knowing that someone (that none of them even know) cares enough to do this, really makes them smile. Thanks again for all you do!!
Take care!

Thank you again, TSgt Cramer
Let me start by saying; that on behalf of Airmen and women of the 332nd ELRS Ramp team, Thank You for your support. Your company’s support by sending the largest care packages, that I’ve seen, really brings up the morale in our office, as well as mine for as long as we are out here in Iraq. TSgt John Cramer is the airman who has been in touch with your company, thanks to him by keeping in touch, this is one of the many things we really appreciate from yours and any other company. I myself, is one of many citizen airman from the Island of Guam, who took time off from my civilian job to come out here to do my part in giving Freedom to those who need it. Once again with my sincerest, THANK YOU!<푄'> 푄'>Diaz, Norman C., SSgt, USAF

Thank you again for your thoughtfulness!! Have a blessed week ahead and enjoy the snow--I pray you're okay and have electricity.
We received a huge box of goodies yesterday that we really appreciate. Would it be possible to get one of the basketballs, and some shower shoes and sun screen? The summer will be here before we know it. Be safe and stay warm during the storm! Thank you! Soldiers of the 271st MCT FOB Leatherneck, Afghanistan

Christmas Stockings
Boatsie's Boxes...I just wanted to send a quick note of thanks to you and your organization for the wonderful Christmas Stockings. I arrived at my base in Iraq after spending Christmas in Kuwait and imagine my surprise when I discovered a stocking stuffed with candies and goodies on my cot! Your entire organization, plus the great Americans who donate to it, is really making a difference with our Soldiers. You can't discount what it means to a young Soldier to know that there are folks back in the States who took the time to do something nice for them. You are all true heros in my book. Thanks again for all you are doing.
God Bless.
COL Andrew Atcher US Army Camp Stryker, Iraq
Hi, I just wanted to send you a quick note to thank you for the Christmas stocking you stuffed full of Christmas goodies. I'm a Soldier who just arrived to Baghdad and didn't have the opportunity to spend Christmas with my family. Although it's sad to spend time away from my friends and family during the holidays, your gift really lifted my spirits. It was waiting on my bed when I arrived to my room, and I'm still enjoying all the candy that keeps spilling out of it! It's the support from caring people like you that really makes a difference for our Soldiers. Thanks again for your very kind gesture!
COL Scott Donaldson, US Army
Hi there! The Christmas stockings were wonderful! We passed them out on Christmas Eve so everyone would have something for Christmas morning. Without your support that wouldn't have happened. I attached a couple of pictures for you. One is of the Security Escorts and the other is of the Fire Department.
We will go home soon, so please don't send anymore care packages. I can't thank you enough for all of your outstanding support. You really made this deployment a bit easier for so many Airmen. If there's anything I can do for you, please let me know. We appreciate you!
Sincerely, SMSgt Harshman
LYN HARSHMAN, SMSgt, USAF

Dear Boatsie crew, Thank you so much for all you do! Christmas Eve some of our guys brought your stockings around to everyone, and it was great! TONS of goodies! It was really great to have something to open up, a little feeling like home… Thank you! 1Lt Robert Forrester 386 ECES/CECS “The Rock”, Ali Al Salem, Kuwait
To those who have and continue to support us,
I want to take the time to say thank you. The Airmen here at the 532nd Expeditionary Security Forces Squadron at Joint Base Balad sincerely appreciate the stockings! It is hard to have the perception of Christmas here in Iraq, but the stockings remind us we don't need snow to celebrate the holidays. We have created our own family here and we join to share these gifts and bring us closer together. We all have families back home and it is harder on us this time of year. Once again, thank you for taking the time to put these together as a reminder to us our family is not just the ones we call on Holidays but also the ones we put our lives on the lines for every day, Americans!
Just a little note and hope all who have made this possible get to have a wonderful holiday season as that is just a small item we are fighting for.
Happy Holidays,
Brandon A. Chapelo, SSgt, USAF 532d ESFS/EWO
Boatsie Team,
Im a Security Forces Member in the United States Air Force my rank is Senior Airman (E-4) stationed in Baghdad, Iraq have been Deployed sense November 2008 and on my way home early January. We have been training the Iraqi Police trying to make the way of life a little better here.
But i woke up this morning with a stocking hanging from my door from you guys. I just wanted to say thank you for everything your team does. It truly touched me and made my day. We are having Christmas dinner with all of our friends and missing our families together. But we are together. I attached a pic of our team. Im the guy on the left holding the flag. Everyone in this pic got a stocking this morning and they have all been talking about it.
Again thank you for everything,
SrA Christopher Miller, USAF
Boatsie's Boxes,
Greetings from Iraq! As Christmas and New Year's approaches, it signals a time to stop and reflect about the true meaning and what matters in this life, family, good friends, God, home, and telling people how much they mean to you. Your generous gifs have brought much joy and a taste of home for many deployed Soldiers. Your gifs were also shared with local Iraqi children which many don't have the running water in their homes, although pictures were not allowed the smiling faces and joy of receiving gifts are forever a positive memory for those who shared in the moment.
Your support has been simply amazing and this mission would have been much more difficult without your Christmas Stockings to share during the Holiday Season.
I am humbled by your steadfast support for deployed American Troops.
May you have a warm and joyous Holiday Season full of things that truly matter.

Boatsie I just got back from leave and just saw all the boxes that you sent us. All I have to say is wow and thank you so much for everything that you and your group have put time and effort into getting all this together. Also I know that you would like some pictures and I will do my best to take some on Christmas when chaplain and I passed out everything to take some pictures and send them to you.

I just wanted to say Thank You. A friend of mine received 10 of your boxes and wanted to make sure that the guys out on the little FOBs received them, so we forwarded them to the guys that deserve them the most, those that are working the hardest and living under the worst conditions. I know they appreciated them and were excited to receive them, as they don’t always get those little extra amenities. As I said they were given to the guys that are working extremely hard and living in the worst conditions, they probably won’t have the opportunity to write and say “Thank You”. So on their behalf I would like to say, Thank you for supporting your troops and wish you a Merry Christmas! Brandy Roseland CDO Kandak LST Team Program Specialist Afghanistan 0795707468
Dear Boatsie's Boxes,
I want to thank you for the boxes of Christmas Stockings you sent to our troops in Afghanistan. They were sent to CH Sam Rico, who has recently departed the country to return to his home in NY. I am his replacement. Our Soldiers have been excited to receive their own Christmas stockings. Any items from home are always welcomed, but the stockings were a special treat. Thanks again for what you do.
Thank you all so much for the stocking contributions. I truly appreciate the time, money, effort that went into making them. Even though we are so far away, this stocking brings a little warmth of home to our hearts. V/R SrA Kareena Howard The “Rock” Kuwiat
Boatsie... Hi there, I was born and raised in Wheeling, graduated from Park in '87, my mom still lives on 14th Str, her name is Shirley Jackson, anyway I have been in the Air Force now 20+ years and am curently stationed at Luke AFB AZ which is in Phoenix AZ, and as you can imagine a big change from Wheeling. But I do love it there. Right now I am deployed to Joint Base Balad here in Iraq, I am in a unit of about 150 people and most of us will be heading back in early JAN 2010. We have gotten many of your boxes and a lot of the stockings you have sent. It is well appreciated!!! As for the one thing missed the most, we are all in agreement that it would be soft toliet paper, as funny as that sounds! But no matter what is sent, we somehow use and really APPRICATE the effort to let us all know we are thought of and supported in the USA!!! (and my home town!!!) Thanks for spreading some "WHEELING FEELING" to others!!!
TSGT JEFFERY J. JACKSON
Today we had a Christmas celebration. It was one of the best days I have had since I have been here. Hundreds of stockings were passed out to the troops. It was a great sight! I wanted to say Thank You and let you know that this means alot. It is incredible to see that you have kept this up since 2004! That's fantastic, it literally brings tears to my eyes.
To All Who Help: I received a stocking today and I had a flashback to when I was a boy wondering what I would find stuffed inside! Did I mention I am 46 years young? The best item was the card with your website so that I can express my gratitude. Thank-you for all your time and efforts to bring a little cheer while we are away from family and loved ones. Happy Holidays! TSgt Stephen Bracher The “Rock” Kuwait
Greetings from Mosul, Iraq where we have just received your Christmas stockings. It's a good thing too, because I had already been planning on hanging my old, torn military issue socks on the doors of my platoon on Christmas Eve with a note giving them their work assignments for the day. They'd expect nothing less from me no doubt. We are an Engineer Construction Company mainly from the Clarksburg/Bridgeport area positioned at COS Marez this Christmas season. Thank you again for your generosity and for asserting your time and energy into something greatly appreciated. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year from 2nd Platoon, 115th Engineer Company in Mosul, Iraq. Attached is a picture of our Commander, CPT Todd Justice, receiving the coveted 'Steroid Stocking'!

Boatsie,
I just wanted to thank you again for the support. The CS arrived very quickly after you sent this email. I managed to acquire some space in our supply warehouse to store the boxes as I worked out a distribution plan. My poor Airman that picks up our mail worked very hard getting all 181 cases of CS from the postal center to the warehouse. I know the postal center people were happy to see the boxes moved.
I made last Saturday the day for my First Sergeants to come pick up the cases they needed. There were lots of pickup trucks lining up to load up the CS. Most are planning on giving them out at the associated Christmas parties or just by dropping them off to the dormitories. I kept a couple boxes to have in the back seat of my vehicle. I drive around and hand them out in my travels. All in all, they have been greatly appreciated.
I have asked my First Sgts to take lots of pictures. I'll share them once they start coming in. Thanks again for the goodies and the thoughts behind all the work. It feels like a little bit of home while we are here during the holidays.
Take care and thank you.

Wow, I want to thank you so much for the support. I received your boxes yesterday and I can’t begin to explain how grateful my staff, the troops and the kids are. I have already placed out a significant amount of candy for the troops to grab and enjoy. You guys are amazing. Anytime you can send candy and items would be great. We will go through this very quickly because of course everyone loves candy and no one can say no. Anything else you guys are able to send like office supplies, hygiene products, games and toys, would really help. Again I thank you from the bottom of my heart and I will send pictures soon of the troops and kids enjoying the yummy treats.
Frances Gonzalez We can't thank you enough for your generosity or the inspiration you have put in others. It will certainly be a good Christmas here @ Bagram and around Afghanistan.

Hi Boatsie, I wanted to thank you for all the wonderful "stuff" you've sent to our office. I'm currently in Afghanistan working in the LOGCAP building for six months. You stuff is put out on a table near my desk and all the soldiers, contractors, and other supporting staff such as myself. Hi, Boatsie! My time here in Afghanistan is quickly coming to a close, and I'll be back home in Arkansas in a few short weeks. Thank you so much for the goodies, the smiles, and the continued support you and your Team so generously and selfless give to the Soldiers, Sailors, Airmen, Marines, and Civilians deployed across the world in this combined fight.
It is always such a pleasure to receive your e-mails, even if I'm not requesting a box! And this all started with that delightful Christmas stocking for "female soldier" last December. Thank you again and again for your amazing spirit and very special way of reminding us that even though we are far from home, there are so many dear people that are remembering and caring.
Love you! Thank you! Thinking of you!

Perfect timing! We ran out of shaving cream and razors over the weekend, then your box arrived on Monday. Thank you so much! You've been such a great support throughout our deployment. May God bless you and your supporters for all you've done!
Chaplain Vaughn
Received the box of hand sanitizer today and sunscreen, thanks for the support sun getting real hot at 8 thousand feet. If you happen to run across some baby wipes we are real short on that item
Thanks Again Gary I wanted to just drop you a line and thank you for the box I received today. I have already given it to the Chaplain to be distributed to the Marines. Boatsie, I will redeploy in a couple weeks and I just wanted to thank you for your tremendous support of our soldiers, sailors, airmen, marines, and coast guardsmen. You are an incredible lady and true patriot. I just can’t’ find the words to capture how much your support means and the effect it has on the ground over here. Thank you just doesn’t seem to cover it but it’s all I can think to say. Chief Paul Burgess will be relieving me. I ask that you add him to your distribution list so we can continue the relationship between you and the men and women of the 332 Air Expeditionary Wing and Joint Base Balad.
CMSgt Dave Williamson
I am heading home in about 3 weeks, and I want to thank you for everything you do for us. You have made a difference in many lives, and when I get back to WV I will be stopping by Thanks, Glenn
Thank you for your continued contribution and show of support to the service men and women abroad. It is wonderful and encouraging. Thanks for keeping us in your hearts and minds. God bless the USA.

Hello,
I hold in my hand a large bag of jelly beans! :D They were distributed to use today. I wanted to take the opportunity to say thanks. I make it a habit to do so whenever we get wonderful gifts like these from wonderful people like yourselves. It is greatly appreciated and will not be forgotten!
Eight more cases of goodies this week!!! Wow! And I thought the first shipment of CDs was it. Not to worry, the Soldiers are having a great time sorting through the music. Also, thanks for the Jelly Beans! What a great idea! I'm holding them back until next week just before Easter as a special treat. You're the best!
Thanks again! Tommy
Also, I received 2 of your boxes today...1 with Girl Scout cookies and one with various health and beauty aids in it. They are both fantastic and the Soldiers were very excited to see all the goodies!
Once again, thank you so much for everything you've done for us so far this deployment, its been wonderful and all the other units are jealous every time I get another "Boatsie Box"!!
Brian

Hi~ I just wanted to say thank you for the generosity you have shown to those of us serving overseas. I am in Balad and this is my first time over here. There were some goody boxes left over from Christmas that had some really neat items inside. Not sure if anyone took the time to say thank you so I thought I would for all of those who didn’t. People like you make it worth being over here! Marci Lyn Bakely
Hey Got the CD's and DVD's went faster than they got here. Thanks for sending them. The guys do love them.. Thanks again SFC Tiell
Boatsie,
Your box of razors etc, arrived and I opened it today. Thank you again. It is absolutely, perfectly what we needed!
V/r, LT David J. Cullen, III Command Chaplain 1st Reconnaissance Battalion II Marine Expeditionary Force (Fwd)
Thank you so very much for the first box. My guys and I loved it, we used the movies for a movie night, sat back and relaxed, eating the delicious snacks. We truly appreciate everything your group is doing for us. Thank you again from all of Troop C 2-106th Cavalry at FOB Lindsey.
Boatsie: The Mother's Day and Easter cards arrived and they are so beautiful -and there are so many!!! Absolutely amazing and a joy to see!!! I distributed quite a few personally and have delivered the rest to the CSTC-A Chaplain, so they can be distributed through the many worship forums available at Camp Eggers. When I told Chaplain Wikstrom that I had cards from Boatsie's Boxes, he thought they were cards that had been sent for distribution to military from supporters - and already filled out. When I told him these were from your organization and to be given out for military to send home, his eyes really did light up in delight. There are many outlying forward operating bases (FOBs) where military have no access at all to such items, and he may also place a few of the packages of cards into FOB shipments. You are truly an Angel. I'll be in touch! Thanks so very, very much. Love, leanne
LeAnne P. Burch COL, JA
Boatsie,
Thanks for the box. I wish you had seen some of my guys eyes when I opened the box and said that someone in the States (besides our families) cared for us. The box contents did not last 2 minutes in the box. Once again, Thank you very much for taking care of us.

Hey Mom,
TSgt George Coppick (AMMO) stopped in to see me this morning, he just returned from a 4 month deployment to Balad. He said there was a huge room full of x-mas stockings from you, i said oh great AMMO was hooked up pretty good for x-mas. He said no, the ENTIRE base, TSgt and below, received the x-mas stockings, it was like he could not believe all the x-mas stockings that were shipped into Balad. He said to say thanks so much, he was very grateful to receive a stocking. Hopefully you got plenty of pictures from them.

You all have made it easier to be here in a distant country and let us know that there is still great Americans who support there troops. It's an honor to serve our country and all it's citizens. Im very proud to call myself an American Soldier and just feel blessed to have been given a chance to serve for it's way of life. May God continue to bless you all as you have blessed our platoon. Take care now!!

Your Soldier and servant, Carlos Pena; Out!!
My name is SGT Luttman with the 855th QMCO (FSDS) stationed in Al Asad Iraq. I was flying into Iraq on Christmas Eve, when I was given a stocking at the terminal I was waiting at to catch my flight. It had a lot of great items in it and a card with this email. I just wanted you to know that during the holidays it was really tough on a lot of soldiers, especially ones whom this is their first time serving overseas. I want to thank you for making our Christmas better. It was nice to see that is such a remote place of the world that people have not forgot about the soldiers who are fighting. I know I had a few soldiers come to me with big smiles on their faces with your stockings that you sent in their hand. At a place where everyday is the same no matter if it is your birthday, a holiday or just another day it is nice to see that people do care and have not forgotten. I just want to thank you for making our holidays better in a time and situation that almost seemed impossible. Thank You Again. SGT Luttman, John R.
Dear Boatsie's Boxes, I'm finally able to catch up on some thank you's from the Holidays and I would be remiss if I didn't say thanks to all of you for thinking of us at the this time of year. I just got here a couple weeks before Christmas and it was hard being away from my family, but it was made easier with your very generous gift. Thank you again and may God Bless you and yours this New Year. Semper Fi, Jim Popielec LtCol USMC Kuwait
Boatsie- I would like to extend a wonderful New Years greeting to you and yours and hope for nothing, but prosperity and great will for 2009. I thank you again for being such a great, warm and caring person; when it comes to taking care of our pride and joy (the US Army), it shows what kind of heart you have. You touch so many lives with your cheer and packages. From the bottom of my heart and my families; God Bless and have a stellar 2009 ma'am. Michael Mason & Family
Boatsie, Thank you so much for the Christmas wishes and the stockings…they were a big hit. We have had some communication issues of late so I hope this email finds you and that you had a Merry Christmas. You are an incredible patriot and your efforts have bolstered the hearts and resolve of many, many soldiers, sailors, airmen, marine, and coast guardsmen this holiday season who through you receive support and little pieces of home. It is your support and the support of those like you that ensure we will not fail and that our nation will continue to be, as you put it, the greatest country in the world. May god bless you in the coming year. v/r CMSgt Dave Williamson
Merry Christmas to all of you also!! It's always easy to be a troop of a great nation full of people like yourself who really give it all for there country; it's us troops who thank you all for your support. May God continue to bless you all in the coming year and may He also bless your support office and everyone who works at it.
Your Soldier, Carlos Peña Boatsie, I was just thinking of you. Stopped by the office to call home. There are some of your stockings sitting here that we will pass out today. I can't thank you enough for what you are doing. The 180 people on our team really loved getting them. Merry Christmas to you and your family! Jennifer
Jennifer J. Murphy, Lt Col, USAF
Thank you for all you do for us....Marry Christmas to you and all your love ones. Again thank you.
Respectfully Elvis C. Jones TPE Team-3 Mosul Iraq Team Chief
I am stationed in Al Asad Iraq. We received the Christmas stockings from Balad. Our Captain made sure everyone had a stocking for Christmas. It is very thoughtful and kind of you to do a simple gesture like that. We are all away from our family and friends for the holidays. Even though they let us know we are thought of, it is nice to know that we are thought of by people they don't know us. It reminds us that we are supported by our people back home in the States. Thank you again. May God bless you this holiday season.
Sincerely, Ssgt White, Ronnie Cargo Processing Al Asad Boatsie,
We got tons of Boatsie’s Boxes and I just want to say thank you from the bottom of my heart. I’ve passed out everything you sent and the Marines are very grateful. Please know that your efforts go much appreciated.
I’ll get thank you notes out ASAP to as many as I can. May God continue to bless you and all that you do! Chaplain Mike McConville
And Glenn, Merry Christmas to you from Bagdad, Iraq. We are truly fortunate to be part of the greatest country in the world and privileged to be serving at this historic time. Stay safe and all the best for a prosperous New Year!

Boatsie's Boxes Team,
My name is Brady Fischer from Carter Lake, Iowa and I am an Air Force officer stationed in Kabul, Afghanistan. There are many Airmen and Sailors deployed here in Kabul to advise the Afghan National Army on ways to improve their Logistics operations. It is a critical part of the mission to allow security in the country to be improved and restored. We convoy daily to work in armored vehicles and wear body armor as well. We interact with Afghans on a daily basis and are performing a dangerous but necessary mission. Most of us are deployed for 1 year and some are deployed for 6 months. It is a long time to be away from our loved ones and our homes. I tell you all this so you know who are supporting.
It is wonderful to come back from a long days work to find care packages waiting for us especially during the holiday season. The Christmas stockings were great! Kind acts from people we have never met mean a lot to us here in Kabul. Thank you for thinking of us and for taking the time to send a little piece of home to a far away part of the world. Thank you so much for your thoughts, prayers, and generosity. Happy Holidays and God bless...
Sincerely,
Major Brady Fischer

Dear Boatsie- I want to thank you for the Christmas stocking that I received. I’m stationed at Joint Base Balad, and being here over the holidays is made a little bit easier thanks to people such as yourself that give very selflessly to brighten the day of a soldier or airman that is away from their home and loved ones. May God bless you this holiday season and throughout the year! TSgt Elizabeth Hansen
Hi,We recently received a box full of Christmas stockings from you and are all very grateful. It brought a smile to each one of our faces to know that someone that we have never met before cares for us so much. Your kindness will not be forgotten. Eternally grateful,

I am currently at Balad AB and wanted to say thanks for your generosity. The folks here really appreciate all that you are doing to keep us in your thoughts. We received a bunch of Christmas Stockings yesterday and once again, thank you for taking the time to do something for the men and women of the Armed Forces. God Bless and Happy Holidays. JAMES T. KIEREJEWSKI, MSgt, USAF Munitions Accountable Systems Officer
I wanted to tell you everyone says thank you so much for the CS. You helped bring some Christmas to Iraq. Much appreciated!
Last week I received a stocking filled with goodies. We hung a few up in old Christmas fashion and they definitely brightened our holiday season. Thank you. Sra Gene Keller.
Dear Boatsie,
Thanks for the hats and mittens! They'll be passed out to local Iraqi children today as part of our Project Care and Share program. You're wonderful and making a tremendous difference on this side of the world.
Merry Christmas! Chaplain Vaughn
Good Morning Gail, I just wanted to send you a quick little E-mail to thank you for the Christmas Stockings. You don't know how much you motivated us here. It's hard to spend the holidays stuck thousands of miles from home, but people like you make it so much more comforting. I want you to know that I hung the stockings in everyone's little workspace and put names on them. The Soldiers will not be opening them until Christmas. I will find a camera and take some pictures of the happiness you spread around our work area. Thank you again for all that you do. Don't thank me; thank my recruiter. You know if it weren't for him, I wouldn't be in this great country today!!!

Gail,
I just wanted to take a minute and thank you for sending these boxes to us. We live and work at Camp Eggers, Kabul, Afghanistan. We were so surprised to find that the stockings were so big with so many wonderful things in them. We will hand them out when we get a little closer to the Christmas holiday. My boss, Col Cody Smith, ordered them and he too wishes to express his sincere gratitude. As you know from personal experience, when you are away from home, mail/packages/etc. are lifelines. We really appreciate your support. Rest assured, your work is making a difference. Thanks again and Happy Holidays.
Jennifer J. Murphy, Lt Col, USAF
Thank you so much. I received three boxes with Christmas Stockings for our Soldiers here in Iraq. I will surprise them with your gifts on Christmas morning - thank you very much for helping to bring some more smiles to them.

Boatsie- Ma'am I just want to say Thank you from the bottom of my heart for the items you sent me. The sunflower seeds were terrific and the t-shirts were also really cool. You are touching us here in the Middle East and we (I) appreciate it. You generosity and kindness does not go unnoticed. I sincerely appreciate you and the people of West Virginia. It's all really very touching. The only items I can think of in the next care package would be sunflower seeds again and red licorice from the US. I really enjoyed the Reggie Jackson sunflower seeds. Thanks again for all you do for the US Army abroad!! Mike Mason

Thanks for the recent care package! Wow! The box was much bigger than I anticipated! Everything is greatly appreciated (especially the Propel drink mixes, laundry detergent, and phone cards). You've put a big smile on my face today (and my Soldiers). May God bless you and your organization for all you do for us.

April-September 2008
We received a box of goodies from you a couple of weeks ago, and for that I say thank you. We each (there are five of us here) took a couple of the goodie bags, and then took the rest to the finance office where they have a "grab table" full of books, snacks, and other miscellaneous items for anybody to take. We realized that while we could take all of the bags for ourselves, we made sure that other people who may not have been fortunate enough to have been adopted, had a chance to enjoy the gift that you and everybody else was kind enough to donate. It's the gifts that you and others have taken the time to provide us, that makes the difference. Again thank you.
Respectfully, Sgt Erik R. Dexter

Dear Gail and the generous members of Boatsies,
I received yesterday 20 boxes of CDs and 5 boxes of toiletries. I cannot thank you enough for all your generous support to our Soldiers. Your thoughtfulness, kindness, support and prayers to us make so much difference boosting the morale of our Troops. May God reward you all greatly for all the goodness you shared to all Soldiers around the world... THANK YOU VERY VERY MUCH!!!

Mrs. Boatsie,
Your packaged arrived today! We're delighted and gratefully appreciative. Opening today's package could be comparable to children at Christmas opening gifts. We have a neat little tradition of all gathering around the box after mail call, opening the box, and sharing all the goodies. It's a sight to see, and I'll take pictures of it next time. Again thank you for your loving support.

Dear Boatsie,
First, I want to apologize for the delay in writing. Chaos has been the norm here for the past few weeks and it is finally starting to calm down...though, we don't currently have internet :(
Your huge box of toiletries was truly timely and necessary. We were running low on many of the items (could still use some shampoo if you have any) and your box allowed our Soldiers to nor have to spend their money on overpriced items here.
Please, keep up the wonderful work!
Sincerely,
George
Wow, I've just received your recent package of Towels!!! We're deeply appreciative, they guys/gals needed them, they went super quick. I'm working some photos for you of our unit.

Rest assured, I'll remember you all in my daily prayers. with love and prayers\CH Dino Besinga
Boatsie,
We just got our first box. Thank you very much! The guys really appreciated the snacks and toiletries. It was like a mini-Christmas for us. They're sending me a few photos they've taken that I can send to you.
Thank you again!

Thank you so much for the care package!! The Soldier's faces light up with joy! Every item went to good use. The delivery was excellent timing too do to our living situation. Since we are on a small, yet crowded base, there's often not enough hygiene products and morale goodies for everyone, so your care package has definitely filled the void. We definitely appreciate it, and if you've still got products, we definitely could use more products, of course we don't want to take away from other Soldiers, so if you don't that's fine. We've very appreciative for your generous support so Thank you very much!

Well hello my good friend and a great friend of so many deployed. My year here is about up July 6th and I will head back to Scott and retire after 30 years and 6 months of constant United States Air Force. You are a very special person and made a huge morale difference for me and my Airmen in 2004/2005 while deployed to Iraq conducting convoy operations. Again, you made a huge difference 2007/2008 for me and my 4,000 Airmen here in Kuwait and Iraq. Thank you so much for serving our great nation and all of her warriors as we fight global terror.
I will gladly take what you have to offer and if they arrive here while I am still here, I will personally deliver items to our warriors with our thanks to you and your team support.
Thank you once again,
Carl Hunsinger
To Boatsie’s Boxes From The Soldiers of the 4th Battalion, 42nd Field Artillery Here’s a GREAT BIG THANK YOU FOR YOUR SUPPORT!!! Your gifts are huge symbols of support for our Soldiers in addition to offsetting their out of pocket expenses. In fact, I tell our Soldiers that they may receive your gifts at no cost to them; however, someone paid the price so they do not have to. I can’t tell you how excited I am. We can’t wait to see the Soldiers as they see how much people back Home care for them. Even now our Soldiers are thrilled as they receive motivation from your gifts and prayers. Please pray for their safety. I can ensure you your investments in our Soldiers are very much appreciated. Thanks and God Bless You, the USA, our Soldiers, and “The Soldier’s Blessing Store”. Hi, We had a Captain in here telling us about a big explosion that shook our building/lights and felt like the foundation of our building. The explosion happened about 4 miles from us. It was estimated to be at least 10,000 pounds. A fully loaded armored dump truck drove into an Iraq army camp where US troops we getting ready to move to. I won't go into the amount killed or wounded. The explosion did destroy all the building (3 each). Since the troops were in transit to move in they were left, so to say, homeless. The Captain stated that the troops were sleeping on a concrete slab, with no blankets or other sleeping accommodations. Without hesitation, I gave him 2 boxes of blankets to at least keep our troops warm at night. I told him to thank you not me for your well needed donation. He will take pictures and provide them. Will make sure you receive them as soon as I do. Thanks for your support. I know the troops do appreciate it. Steve Stephen H. Cochrane
Ms Boatsie,
I received the boxes of blankets yesterday. All my troops were very appreciative of them. I will be returning home soon but will pass your name over to my replacement.
Thank you so much for you kindness and thoughtfulness. On behalf of the men and women of DET/1 332d EMSG Mayor Cell, WE SALUTE YOU!!!
God Bless You, Msgt Michael Moss
Thank you so much for the treat bags. They arrived yesterday. The Airmen and the Soldiers will appreciate them. Thanks, RF, Russell Frantz, CMSgt, USAF
Boatsie,
I want to personally thank your organization for sending the troops the blankets. We received 3 boxes today and we were very surprised at the quality and quantity of items you sent. All I can say is that they went fast. From all of us at the mayor cell in LSA Anaconda, Iraq, we thank very much.
MSgt Anthony D. Dudley
I just wanted to send a note thanking you for the CDs and DVDs that you recently sent. It's actions like these that make me proud to serve such a great country. A country where complete strangers can help so much by sending something simple as a candybar or a CD to comfort a troop who is thousands of miles from his or her family. I think what you do is awesome and I look forward to helping the cause in the future. Thank you and blessings be with you.
TSgt John Morrisett Force Protection Ali Al Salem AB, Kuwait
As I get ready to depart, wanted to send out one last note to you and say thank you for all that you have done for HHC/2 BCT, 82d ABN DIV here in Iraq. Believe me, your efforts and tremendous support did not go unnoticed by the Paratroopers of this unit. On their behalf, please accept my most sincere appreciation for what you do for us and Soldiers everywhere. I was blessed to have all the support you sent us during this 15 month deployment. I have included a couple pictures of my “goodie table”. It seems to get a lot of mention in letters and notes with boxes. I thought maybe you would like to see just how immense it really is. To put it in perspective – the wall it is one is 18 foot long. It was always full thanks to your efforts. As we return to Bragg, know that you had an impact on our time here. Thank you for having the vision to create what you have created and dedication to see it through.
All the Way... and then some!

I some how inherited one of your cards in a care package. I just wanted to say thank you. It does help to know that there are poeple back home that care so much. For soldiers they do not know. But they do what they can as if the soldier was their own family. If nothing else. These are the poeple I hope to make proud of the jobs we do here. Because they are the ones that make me proud to be American.
DEAR GAIL AND THE MEMBERS OF BOATSIE: Words could not express how happy I was to receive the gifts for our Soldiers. I can hardly believe to see 2 Big boxes of care packages that you sent to us. I would like to cordially thank every members of your sublime Organization. Those goodies and phone cards you donated to us could really make a difference in the lives of so many Soldiers. There's no doubt that our tasks and sacrifices are perfectly matched by your showed concern and support to us. We truly felt being loved by you and felt never had been forgotten. With God's grace, and with the continuing support of wonderful people like YOU, we'll be able to carry lightly the hardships and difficulties we encounter in our missions thinking that there are loving people who care for us; we'll always be motivated in every ways and we'll be able to carry out the banner of love and peace to the Iraqi people and to defend our Nation and Freedom. May God greatly reward you for your thoughtfulness and love! Rest assures; that I will always continue to remember you all in my daily prayers and, as a priest, to offer my daily Masses. HAPPY EASTER TO ALL OF YOU!!! With love and prayers, CH (CPT) Dino Jon Besinga HHC, 17th CSSB FOB Q-WEST APO AE 09351
Hello! We got your packages today with the jockey's, socks, and snacks. As always, thank you sooo much. Your packages always bring smiles to us soldiers. Again, thank you for the time and energy you, and all your donors, put into helping us out. Thank you, SPC Sellers, William A-Co, 1-30 IN, 2 BDE, 3 ID Unit # 42543 APO, AE 09361
Thank you so much for all you do for our Airmen, Soldiers, Sailors and Marines out here. We have so many Boatsie Boxes out here that the locals may rename their territory "Boatsie's Boxes". Thank you so much, Chief Carl Hunsinger
Boatsie, On behave of my Soldiers, I would like to thank you for the support. Being far from home and our families every package received makes us feel that much closer to home. The best part of every day to any soldier over here is opening a letter or package from home. It brings smiles on faces and reminds us that there are folks back home that care and have us at heart. Your care packages do just that. keep it coming. Thank you and God Bless, Lawrence D. Sekajipo Jr. CPT, FA
Hello, We received two boxes today filled with Valentine's Day goodies and cards. I passed everything out to the troops and they again were very happy. Thank you so much for your support. Please say hello and thanks to the children in NY who sent the valentine's as well. Take care and God Bless! Jeff
I just wanted to let you know that we received Christmas boxes and gifts from your organization. Everyone here at AFN Iraq was thrilled to get a little piece of home, wrapped in colorful paper. Let folks back there know that we appreciated it. Sincerely, MC1(SW/AW) Tracey L. Goff
Hello, I got this email from one of our chiefs out here in Kuwait and I wanted to touch base and say thank you for all the incredible Christmas spirit we enjoyed b/c of those stockings. Those things were no-joke and even us officers really liked opening them to find cool little goodies. I had actually been looking for a black fleece hat. When you deploy here in the summer, you don't even dream about warm clothing b/c of the ridiculous heat. But it actually gets chilly here and my (mostly) hairless head appreciated the warm hat I found in my stocking. I would love to write a real card of thanks to you guys, but don't have your address. If you'd like to pass that along, I'll be sure to do that. Either way, I wanted you to know how appreciated your efforts were - I know I speak for the entire detachment. Jon - Jonathan D. Lee-Warner, Lieutenant, US Navy Dear Boatsie, family and friends,
I want to say HAPPPY HOLIDAYS to all you at Boatsie from all of us at FOB Hammer, Iraq!!! We have received several boxes from your organization and we Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for all the stockings we received just in time for Christmas. It's always nice to get mail from friends and family, but most touching when people like you take the time to put together thoughtful care packages. They arrive unexpectedly to brighten the day here at FOB Hammer (though some would argue it's bright enough out here in the desert!); not only are the treats delicious and the other items necessities, but it means a lot that an organization we don't even know supports us and wishes us well. So you know, your stockings went to our detachment of Airmen from the 557 Expeditionary RED HORSE Squadron, a heavy construction unit comprised of engineers and craftsmen from all over the country. Right now we're deployed for six months in support of the Army, constructing facilities and roads for the 3rd Brigade Combat Team, 3rd Infantry Division so they can operate from something a little more reliable than tents and dirt paths! It's rewarding work; our base has come a long way since we arrived. I have attached a photo of myself/commander and one of the many elves we had delivering your goodies.
Thanks again for your generosity. Hope you have a safe winter and God Bless!
October, November, December 2007 Boatsie-I'd like to say Thank you for acknowledging the troops the way you do. It touches me to no end to see what you do and the difference you make. You see my name is Mike Mason and I am a contractor in Kuwait, supporting the US Army as they head towards Iraq and Afghanistan, and it is the best feeling in the world. I will have supported the US Army for 4 yrs as of Feb 1st 08 and get goose bumps knowing that I really make a difference. You and you're team should be so proud of the Army here in Kuwait, what a fine group of men and women who are so genuine, professional and focused on their jobs. It is truly a great feeling and what a heartfelt feeling to be able to say "I AM AN AMERICAN", as I support the awesome power that is the US Army-Great Job Ma'am, Sincerely; Michael A. Mason
Ma'am, I just want to send you my great appreciation for the stocking that I received on Christmas. Thanks you so much, it was awesome to know that there are people out there that think about us around the holiday season. All the stuff that I received was in good use after I received it. (especially the candy) :)
Thanks you so much again -V/R, AB Romano
Dear Boatsie’s Boxes Clan,
Thank you so much for the fantastic Christmas stockings! I am honored to be part of the 332nd Expeditionary Fighter Squadron deployed to Iraq, and I’m grateful you chose the men and women of the Colorado Air National Guard and countless others as recipients of your generosity. Your support truly means the world to all of us as we spend the holidays--or anytime--so far from home. Please know that you are in our hearts in as we battle against terrorism, and we are all truly grateful to Americans like you for keeping us in your thoughts.
Sincerely, TSgt Cheresa D. Theiral (and many, many others)
I received a very nice surprise on Christmas—a filled stocking from you. Thank you very much for your support for the deployed troops.
JAMES T. HORTON, Lt Col, USAF
Just wanted to drop a line your way, saying Thank-you for your thoughtfulness in the Christmas care package that I Rcv'd Christmas day. I have only been over here for a couple of months, but with your support, it reminds us that the folks back home remember their troops aboard, especially during this time of year! Thanks again from afar. Tim Rider
To whom this may concern,
I just wanted to write and say thanks for the Christmas stockings that you sent to my soldiers and me. They were a big hit here, and I saw a lot of smiling faces when they received them; they absolutely seemed to raise the morale around here in this time away from family.
Thanks again, Joe Gradzewicz
just want to thank you so much for your kindness. Its people like you that give soldiers hope. Your care package put a HUGE smile on my face! Thanks for all the goodies... nothing can turn your day around like something good to snack on after a rough mission. Your kindness does not go unnoticed. Your care package is a demonstration or your enduring support for us. Know that we appreciate everything you continue to do for us. I pray that this Holiday season is a joyous one for you and wish the best for the New Year. Although we are all far from home this Christmas know that you will be in our thoughts and prayers.
Your contribution makes all the difference for sliders like us. I am humbled and proud just to be able to call myself an American... People like you are what it is all about. This is why we fight... for what America is, and what people like you have made it for us.. thank you so much. The New Year brings us a little closer to the conclusion of our deployment here - a day which everyone here is anxiously awaiting. In the meantime, we shall carry on, continuing to do what we came here to accomplish in the manner which Paratroopers have always been known.
Sincerely,
1LT David Bopp
To all of our wonderful friends,
From the bottom of my heart I wish to extend a most sincere thank you for your efforts to myself and my fellow service members this holiday season. Your care packages were wonderful and we all want you to know that your dedication and support to us does not go unnoticed. It is folks like you all who make this country what it is. The time and effort you put into bringing a little cheer to us deployed speaks volumes of your individual character and collective dedication to those in uniform. I am proud to serve you and humbled by your generosity. May God bless each of you. I wish you all a wonderful New Year as I thank you for my wonderful Christmas. J
Yours in service and gratitude,
CHRIS MAKER
It's Christmas morning. We all just finished opening our stockings from you. Thank you so much. Christmas is an emotional time for everyone, but especially when your away from your family and friends. Having a little something letting us know that someone cares about us really helps. Thanks for the stocking, your patriotism and for caring.
MSgt Jerry J. Mears
Merry Christmas! Thanks so much for the stocking. It is Christmas Day here and it was a nice surprise to have something to open up. It was even sweeter to see that this stocking came from WV. My husband is from WV and I would love to move back there. He is currently back home in VA, but also a member of the Air Force. God Bless you and thanks again.
PAULA A. MYNES, Capt, USAF
Hello, I just wanted to write and express my gradititude for your support and for the box of stockings we received yesterday that I plan on giving out to my Marines tomorrow (Christmas) morning. We are stationed at Camp Fallujah Iraq and have been here almost a year. We are all looking forward to coming home to be with our families, but certainly have appreciated the support for our mission from organziations like yours that help remind us why we are here in the first place. We serve out of a dedication to our country and its citizens as well as to ensure Iraqis may prosper in the future. It is through the love and support of American's that makes this all worth while. Semper Fidelis & Merry Christmas MSgt Tim Gerdes Camp Fallujah, Iraq
To whom it may concern, I received one of your Christmas Stockings today, Christmas Eve. I just wanted to thank you all for taking the time to send us these items…it means a lot. A little bit of home during the holidays in a far away place - Thank you. Shawn Keller
Laidies and Gentilemen of Boatsies Boxes of Wheeling WV; I am Technical Sergant Bill Roche from Monument Colorado. I gracously want to thank you all from th ebottom of my heart. The stockings full of candy and nice little gifts are so great. I especially like the CD of 'Larry the Cable Guy'. The whole idea of providing all two-hundred plus airmen from three F-16 squadrons is a big job. Everyone here appreciates this kind gesture very much. It makes the time away from loved ones over the hollidays, a little less burdonsome. It is nice that there are still some people left that appreciate what we do.
Again Thanks! Sincerely, William (Bill) Roche
Thank you sooo much for getting the 40 stockings to our medics esp. at the last minute. Thank you sooo much!!!!! Not just for Christmas but for all that you do!!! SPC(P) Dianna M. Sokol
I want to say HAPPPY HOLIDAYS to all you at Boatsie from all of us at Sather AB in Baghdad Iraq!!! The Stockings went over well with everyone that received them!! Thank you and if you wish to send anything more it will be appreciated!!! Best wishes!! SrA Paul
Sir/Ma'am, I recently received a package from you that made my holiday. I am currently deployed to Iraq and will be here through the holidays. I have three children and a wife back home spending the holidays without me; when I received your package it really did make a difference. I noticed the morale go up significantly through out the shop when our stockings arrived. I received a scarf in my stocking (which I wear religously, when allowed) that I thought was an excellent gift and suiting since it is a bit on the cold side now. I know that I can speak for everyone here when I say thank you very much, and wish you all the blessings and holiday cheer that you have given us here! God bless!
Boatsie,
I received one you the stockings from you the other day, as did the other 35 in my flight. I wanted to thank you for taking time to think about those of us over here for the holidays. It means a lot to get support from back home during these times. Thank you very much!!! Michael H Van Damme, SSgt, USAF Balad AB, Iraq
Ma am, I would like to thank you so- very much for the care packages you sent to me and my personnel here at Balad AB. I am a member of the 332ELRS/APF, with the Holidays fast approaching it is extreemly thoughtfull of you and those that help you to take the time to think of all of us so- far away from home!! May you and your family have a blessed Holiday season!!
Respectfully,NANCY L. PHILLIPS, TSgt, USAF
Hello, I am a service member currently deployed to Iraq. I received one of the stockings that you sent and I would like to say thank you. All the people in my shop would like to express their thanks for the time that your company takes to remember us during the holidays. It makes us all feel better because of course we can not be with our families during this holiday season. So in closing I just want to say thank you from the bottom of my heart. Sincerely, SSgt Chris Maxwell United States Air Force
Dear Boatsie, My name is SFC Ruiz and I'm with Bravo Company, 478th Engineers stationed in Iraq. Our unit is from Orlando, Florida with one Platoon from West Virginia. On behalf of our unit we want to thank you very much for the stockings. The troops really like them. Most of the Soldiers hung them on their doors after devouring all the goodies they recieved. Many of our Soldiers are very young and it is the first time they are away from home for so long. Again, thank you and thanks to all of your helpers for all you have done for us. You have made a difference to our unit during the holidays. Very Respectfully, SFC Ruiz
Gail,
You all ROCK!!! I sang in a Holiday concert this evening and received one of your stockings when I walked into the theater. Words can't express our appreciation for everything that all of you back home are doing for us over here. This is my second deployment in as many years and I am reassured by the fact that you all back home are continuing to support the troops. It's an honor to be able to represent you all over here. Keep the Faith, God bless, and have a happy holiday season.
Attached is a picture of some of us decorating the roof of our Squadron here in Balad, Iraq. Hi. My name is Melissa. I am in the airforce and am currently deployed in iraq. I just wanted to let you guys know that everyone in my squadron received stockings for the holidays and appreciated them very much. Its nice to know there are people back home besides family that are thinking about us during the holiday time. Thanks again!
Boatsie's Boxes, I would just like to drop a quick line and say thank you. I received one of your stockings from my first sergeant and it was a great joy. I was not sure if I would get a stocking this year for Christmas but thanks to your organization I did. Thanks again, and God bless. SrA Edward Leeper
Dear Boatsie Boxes Team Members: Thank you for sending us the Christmas stockings. It fills our hearts to know that so many people are thinking about us back home. We have recently surpassed our 6 month mark and it's still harder for some soldiers than others to be away from their loved ones. As the unit ministry team we try to help in anyway we can to get our troops through these times. The letters, cards and the great Christmas stockings we receive from you and everyone across the country really keep us going and truly remind us of the importance of our job. We are honored that you all would take time out of your busy lives and routines to provide such wonderful Christmas gifts. I would also like to thank you for your service to our country. You have sacrificed so much and have provided a good example for us to follow. We know there are many people supporting us, and for so many people to come together and show it like you all do makes our job worth doing. Your prayers, thoughts, and support are felt every day over here. Most importantly, thank you for your prayers on our behalf. May God bless you and the ministry you provide! The Soldiers of the 307th Brigade Support Battalion, RENEGADES!! Chaplain (CPT) Tracy Hudgins
Dear Jean, Patrick, Boatsie & Jenny. Thanks so much for thinking about us during this holiday season. I was the proud recipient of a Christmas stocking with your business card in it. Everything in the stocking was very nice and I thank God for people like you. I hope you all have a very merry Christmas and a very happy, healthy and prosperous New Year. Once again, thanks so much for showing your support to all of our Armed Forces. I wish you all a very Merry Christmas, sincerely yours Steve, Balad Air Base, Iraq
Miss Boatsie (and all the rest)- I just wanted to send you a quick little "Thank You" note for the Christmas Stockings that you sent. We were given them today by our Commander and First Sgt. I am a Firefighter at Balad and will be here until around the end of Jan or beginning of Feb. It's always nice to get unexpected little surprises. I know that you (all) don't have to do what you do but you do it anyway. Thanks again and have a Merry Christmas and a Very Happy New Year…TSgt Joey Sandoval

Good morning Gail and Jackie, The Holiday Bags have arrived and Petty Officer Van Horn and I have started distributing them to the Marines and Sailors of 3/3. Thank you once again for your great support of "America's Battalion." I'll send more photos as we get the rest of the bags passed out. Enjoy your holidays. Respectfully, Paul
Dear Ms. Van Vranken, I am a Marine, stationed in Fallujah, Iraq with 3rd battalion, 3d Marines. I recently received one of your holiday gift Bags. I wanted to drop you a note and say thanks for the very nice bag, and more importantly, the thought behind it. I have 10 Marines in my section and we all got bags and I can tell you that all of us were very happy to get them. The socks were a big hit as was the food (when is food NOT a hit with a bunch of Marines, though?). I also liked the razors and shaving cream (great for the return trip home this spring, as they are airline legal). I don't know how many bags you sent out, but I can tell you from personal experience that every one was well received and you brightened up the life of a Marine over here. God bless you and thanks for what you do to keep our spirits up out here. Semper Fidelis, Chief Warrant Officer John Stinnett
Dear Ms/Mrs. VRANKEN, My name is Jared, and I am a Marine currently deployed in Iraq. I would just like to say thank you for your support. We enjoyed the packages and it made us feel like we were at home. We especially loved the socks, as it does get cold here in Iraq. I'll be sure to double up once winter fully sets. We are honored that we have the support from Americans like you. It is us (service men/women) that should be thanking you. Deployments are hard, and stressful, but people like you help boost our morale. We realize that people don't have to do the special things you do for us, and we appreciate your service for us. Thank you for keeping us in mind, and sending your love and support. Everyone in my section would like to say thank you and your organization, for the motivation and care. God bless, and Semper Fidelis. Sincerely, Lance Corporal Jared Zarbo
I received two packages today from your and my aunts work. Me and the marines of my squadron greatly appreciate the support, thought, and care that you guys put into the packages. Thank you and all of them for the stuff that we received and I can not stress the satisfaction nor the gratitude that we have for the items. Thanks for the support, Sgt. Mitchell, R.A.
I just wanted to drop a quick note to let you know that we received the Christmas Stockings. Thank you! I cannot begin to express how thankful we all are to know that we have support at home. It is humbling that you put so much time and effort in supporting us. We took some photographs today and I will forward them to you soon. A little about our unit, we are the 111th EN BDE and are currently deployed to northern Iraq. We are a Guard unit from Eleanor, West Virginia. I am from Wheeling, so I am especially proud of your organization's accomplishments. Thanks again. CPT Shayne M. Welling
I just wanted to drop a note to say thank you for the care package and the Christmas stocking we received from Wintersville Elementry. I appreciate the job you all do putting together care packages for total strangers and want to wish you a Merry Christmas! P.S. – I was born in Wheeling and all of my family is from across the river in Ohio so hopefully I can stop by and thank you personally when I get home and visit Thanks again, Jeremy Carter
Just a thanks for all you folks do back in the States for us in the desert, Those boxes you send make a young Sailor who is worn out dirty and tired smile:) Thanks again ADCS AW NAC Derrill Wickens
Just wanted to let you know we received the christmas stockings today!!! Thank you!! It'll be hard waiting till Christmas : )
Boatsie...these soldiers will take anything, use anything, and eat anything...they will pre-plan the attack, execute the movement order for the attack, and will conduct the attack on whatever comes their way, and believe me they will devour it all!!! I really wouldn't know, specifically, what you should send...hygiene supplies are always welcomed, phone cards...cookies...and candies. I suggest just send what you have been sending in the past. That was mighty kind of you to ask. If you desire to ask me other questions...please don't hesitate to do so. Thank you most kindly for your might kind service you do for the soldiers - all the way from West Virginia!! By the way, the unit is from south Virginia (South Boston Virginia and Roanoke Virginia). I myself am from the Dumfries and Springfield area in Virginia, which is as up north of Virginia as you can get before hitting the Potomac! Again, thank you most kindly for your kind service to all the soldiers here in theater!!
Boatsie, A short note to let you know your boxes made it to Al Asad. Pictured left to right is MSgt Price Mars the First Shirt, LtCol Clifton the Deputy Commander, Col Malackowski the Commander and myself. We will be passing the stockings along to your Airmen this Holiday Season and also sending more pictures. My personal thanks goes out to you and your family for the sacrifices you make for the men and women of our military. You represent the heart and sole of America that supports every Airman here doing the work of our great nation. Chief Ternau
Greetings from the men and women of E429th TC…we would like to say thank you from the bottom of our hearts for all the volunteer serves, your prayers, and the support which you give to us daily!!! That's AMERICA standing united together and supporting one another…and putting differences aside. We conduct daily convoys up north into Baghdad and beyond. Our soldiers get shot at daily either by small round fire or mortars…but THANK GOD ALMIGHTY…they have been coming back to their units safely. We have traveled approximately 3M miles on the road so far and we are not even half ways through our tour. I would appreciate greeting cards, phone cards, or even care packages for our troops here at Camp Arifjan, Kuwait. Again, my many thanks for all you do for us troop over here. Thank you most kindly and God Bless You All!!!

Gail, Thank you for thinking of the Foxtrot Warriors it really means alot to us. Being deployed and away from your family is very hard, harder than people think. Especially when theres people out here in a country that want you dead because you are an American. But we stand tall and defend to the best of the Army's ability. I want to thank you for thinking of the Foxtrot Warriors and other deployed soldiers. Keep us in your prayers to return home safely.SGT Nightingale, Foxtrot Warriors
Awesome stockings, thank you for the boxes, people have loved them!! Have a Happy Thanksgiving!!! Sean
Mrs. Gail, Its SGT Nightingale I want to let you know that I recieve boxes today in the mail for the soldiers. I just want to let you know that they bumbed rush me that they were so happy. I was told that Im doing great things for the soldier, but I had to let them know that its not me it your open heart that write to people and let them donate to soldiers. On behalf of the Foxtrot Warriors I want to say thank you so much. By the way how is it that your boxes make it here so fast. It takes other boxes to make it here forever. Im not sure how to thank you but I want to say thank you a million. Whatever you do please dont forget us if this was your last donation. Im not sure if this was your last donation but whatever you do please dont forget us. Thank you a million. Keep us in your prayers. SGT Nightingale and the Foxtrot Warriors
Hi, Thank you so much for the boxes!! They really couldn't have come at a better time. The stress level of the guys had sky-rocketed due to mission changes, and then we received the boxes. The smiles from the soldiers were priceless, I just wish I had my camera with me at the time. I will make sure to never make that same mistake twice, and ensure I can capture some pictures for you. You really did a great job in putting them together, not a soul walked away empty handed, and everybody had found something in there that they needed. I read your notes and I guess you need an idea of what we may need or want, well...I have compiled a short list of ideas and maybe you can work with that. The list includes: chapstick, snacks, quickmeals ( easy mac, micromeals,(the hamburger helper was a huge success)) small things that are not immediately perishable and require little work to heat up and eat. Jerky, popcorn (microwave), window cleaner, rain-x and pledge (our medics use them to clean the aircraft windows). Army sage green 100% cotton t-shirts (various sizes), these may be difficult to find, we cannot find them here and dont let it worry you if you cannot find them either. This should give you an idea. If you have any questions, feel free to mail me. Sorry it took me so long to reply it has been hectic. Just to give you an idea on how long the boxes took, the boxes came in early last week. Thank you again, your support means alot to these soldiers. Take care, Diana SGT McGhee
Dear Gail, Thanks again for everything you are doing for us here. We are all doing fine but just missing being back home. With the holidays approaching some of the troops are getting ready to go on a nice little r & r to see their families. I will get my break in February. It is getting real cold here now but they say the around Christmas - February it really gets cold. We spend a lot of time outside bundled up by a bonfire sharing stories. A lot of laughs too! Hopefully we will get a white Christmas. Attached are a few pictures with the children at the school here in Kabul. We are so lucky back home. I just hope that what we are doing helps them. Only a little bit makes us happy. Anyway, I thought I would drop you a line and say thanks again for everything. Jeff

Gail, I just wanted to say thank you yet again for everything you do and have done for me and my team. I wanted to let you know about the stuffed animals you sent earlier this month. A few team members sent a couple home to their daughters and sons and that was a big hit as there is not a lot of that sort of thing available here unless it is a camel, haha. The ones that were left over we took to the Division Chaplain and he was going to do one of 2 things, offer then to other members to send home, keep, or give to some of the local Iraqi children who have lost their homes or were injured. Everyone wins all around and it was because of the boxes of them you sent us. Thank you. In addition, I just wanted you and everyone who helps you to know that you are all so much appreciated and we wanted to make sure you were aware of that. I don't know if everyone says thank you but you all so deserve it!! THANK YOU! The things you send and do for us is amazing and really does put smiles on peoples faces. I love being able to send this to our teams and share with those here that are providing support to them. Forever Indebted, Sean Burke
Hello, I am the new Command Chief out this way and it sure is nice to know you are still doing what you did for my troops in 2004 when I was doing convoys in Iraq. I was the Chief Master Sergeant you sent all the Christmas stockings to when I was in Mosul, Iraq. You and your organization made many happy Airmen during the holidays and being so far away from.
CMSgt Carl Hunsinger
Ms. Gail Van Vranken, Thank you so much for your email, I appreciate it. It is great to hear some feedback from the American people and the support. I see it sometimes in the newspaper, but to actual write a letter to a supporter is great and feels good in my heart. I dont know how much longer I have on this earth here in Iraq as everything is in God's hands, but I hope that I do return to my family alive. Thank you or your support Gail and your organization !! Respectfully, James Van Thach, J.D.
Boatsie, I cannot thank you enough for all you do for us out here.As my deployment is coming to a close, I cannot even imagine all those Soldiers that are on 15 month tours.Thank you for supporting all of them. They get tired at times- its great Americans like you that keep them going. Thank you! God bless, Sharon
Thanks Boatsie, We appreciate all that people like you are doing for us over here. Its amazing that complete strangers will use their time and resources for people they have never met.The love and support we get from back home is incredible and a huge motivator for us as we go through the daily grind over here. Thanks so much. Rick
Boatsie, Just a note to let you know we received your care packages...thanks a million. We have 750 SFS Airmen coming to our location over the next five weeks for R & R.The items really came in handy when we made up some individual care bags for them. Please continue sending those type items. I'll send you some pictures soon. V/RChief Andrean
Hey thank you for the boxes we got last week we all appreciated the few movies you sent us and look forward to more of the same.Again thank you for what you do, although not real rewarding it means a lot to the soldiers over here and we appreciate the fact that you take the time to look at our requests and send the things that we ask for because those things are usually hard for us to get here.Anyways have a great day and thank you again from all of us here! Brandon R. Kathrens
Hi Gail, I'm late in writing, but I wanted to make sure before I left for the night to say THANK YOU for the box I got from you earlier this week! You take such great

MAY 2007
Thank you Gail and to the rest of your family, and everyone that has made Boatsie possible. You have put smiles on so many faces and what you all do is so appreciated!!! I had such a great time being apart of your giving. I am getting ready to go home in a couple of weeks and I can't wait. You have touched so many lives. I have even had several people ask about donations and I passed on the information to them. Again, thank you and God Bless!!! Sherry Wurster
Gail and Family, Just a quick note before we depart the AOR later this week. Thank you very much for your hard work and dedication. You have put smiles on many faces of troops during some of the hardest times of their lives. TSgt Wurster and myself wanted to do something extra to help out all the folks headed further down range as they passed through the "Gateway" here. You have helped make it a huge success. From the jelly beans to the popcorn and toiletries, everything went to good use and has been very much appreciated! Thank you again for your help and support. SSgt John Waszak,
Mrs. Van Vranken, On behalf of the 73 EACS at Kandahar AB, I would like to extended our gratitude for the donated items. Your efforts to support the troops in Southwest Asia and other deployed regions of the world have not and will not go unnoticed. The goods sent have brought a touch of home and caring to those with no family to look after them while they are away serving their country. Once again thank you! MSgt Dave Howland APRIL 2007 hey we got the last box of jelly beans today. Thanks for the continued support. They Love to get the stuff, most of these kids are 18 to 23 years old. And they have these big smiles on their faces. We got some good pic's if i can get them to down load.Johnny T. Mahaffey

Boatsie, Thank you! RP1 and I are a becoming concerned as the jelly beans are consumed around the Camp . . . We're getting stern looks from the Dental Techs!!! :) Just kidding . . . they're a big hit. Thanks again, Tim

Please keep up the good work, and God bless you all. Sincerly, Damon J. Breckheimer
Greetings, My name is Charles Malone and I am 25 years of age. I am on my second tour of Iraq and will be on this one for 12 months. I am in a transition team of about 17 men and we are always looking for support back home. Your website is doing a wonderful job and it is good to hear that we still have people cheering us on back home. My wife and son are the only family I have home and its always great to get letters from other brothers and sisters of America.Thank you for what you have done for us over here. Please continue to support the troops and thier families. God Bless, Charles A Malone
I really wanted to say Thank You Soo very much for the support. You've lifted the spirits of quite a few of our soldiers here. They all smile and say thanks man and I say hey it's not from me bud it from the people back home. I just get the good job of handing them out. They usually smile and say thanks" again and walk off. 4 or 5 of them told me what the bags were for (see i had no idea) course i played it off not wanting them to know what i did not know. I was told that it was for " when you shower you put your soap in the bag and wash with it, that way you don't drop the soap and the cloth always stays soapy" Any way enough on my ignorance. I sent about half off to the out-of -the-way places so they could have a taste of home as well. I kinda hide them in the supply boxes i sent them. So they were surprised when they opened the supply boxes. I kinda feel like I cheat you guys for all the work you do. You never get to see the smiling faces when i give the things out to the soldiers (kids). I hope that you know that what your doing really does lift these kids spirits. As well as us old men. I've never had support like we have now from our country man. Thanks again and God Bless You. Johnny T. Mahaffey
Yes Ma'am; A lot of us here are country boys. We love deer jerky, in fact one of the boy's dad sent him a couple a pounds back in Dec. I kinda felt sorry for the boy he didn't get too much of his jerky. I had my clerk hand out some of the bags (caddies) and they took some photo's. So as soon as i learn how to load them (someone will show me) hehe I'll send them to you via e-mail. We really do appreciate all the support we've been shown. I think us older ones remember when our Country didn't stand behind their troops. I think we appreciate it all the more because of the past. Well enough reminiscing of the past.
Johnny T. Mahaffey "Never Sweat the Small Stuff AND Every Thing is Small Stuff"
Ms. VanVranken,
What a privilege to finally get e-mail contact information for you. I have the honor of replacing Capt Galarza here in Afghanistan in support of the Army, Canadian and other NATO infantry and other military operations. Since my arrival two weeks ago, we continue to receive pillows and sheets from you. I cannot tell you what a difference you are making to these troops. Your resources have supported infantry who have come in from the field for reconstitution as well as to support troops who have arrived here via medical evacuation. These troops arrive to our hospital with nothing but the clothes on their backs (which are usually cut and destroyed due to the medical attention they require). I have also sent some of the boxes to the forward operating bases. Those troops live on very small installations with very little outside support. I want to thank you and let you know what a difference you make here. You encourage our troops to keep fighting and keep going because of the strong support of Americans.
Thank you for your efforts. Sharon Gober
Thank you! We have been distributing the "man purses" that is what the troops have been calling them and they are a hit! Thank you for everything you do and to just be able to be apart of it all. Sherry Wurster and John Waszak
Gail As the tempratures are getting hotter we could use some body wash and air freshner any kind. Appreciate the great support your group is doing for the soldiers, and the soldiers always have a big smile when they see your boxes as they know something good is coming. Gary
Just to let you know.I am a civilian worker voluntarily deployedto Kuwait.I noticed your box at our movement control tent at the start of my shift.I have been in and out of the tent all night. We have lots of troops moving to and from Iraq at the minute.I have seen lots of happy faces enjoying the candy.Lots of them are surprised and grateful someone has remembered them at this holiday.
Thanks once again Barbara
Hey Boatsie, We got 8 boxes of Jelly Beans today. Wow, you did a great job. They are just the right size, 1 box per convoy. We give them rip its(energy drinks) before they leave for the night, so I have the jelly beans in the same conex. Thank you for all you.God Bless,Dave

Dear Gail and Family, We received the popcorn and jerky the other day and divided up the snacks into to bags for the guys as they came through the terminal. Thank you very much from us at the 386th, and on behalf of all the men and women who travel through our port. We have been taking some pictures and will send you some when we get the compilation complete. Thanks again for everything you do for us. Sincerely, SSGT John Waszak 386 ELRS/LGRA Ali Al Salem, Kuwait
Gayle (and others), From the bottom of my heart, thank you so very much for that stocking. You'll never know how good that felt opening up this morning, that folks back home aren't forgetting about us. I'm a soldier in Afghanistan, and have been here for 11 months already. I'm one of many who've been affected by the Army's "stop-loss" program, wherein a unit is locked down and no one in it is allowed to leave the military at the end of their contract, at least not until our entire unit re-deploys back to the states. So this has not been a very happy time for me for over here, and I just wanted to let you know that you actually put a smile on my face today. :) Mark Bradfield 10th Mountain Division (Light Infantry)
Hey Boatsie, First I would like to just say Thx for All the stockings. Those combined with efforts from the Family Readyness Group gave us an opportunity to have an XMAS party with a presents, stockings, food, and activities on XMAS. It was nice, we built a towering 35 feet tall BONFIRE and had music and Airforce girls come and enjoy the night with us. Quite an experience. Also We just recieved you first shipment of Mp3 players. Not alot but made 4 soldiers very happy. The company says thanks to you guys cause believe it or not, You are the only carepackage senders we will go through. You and your team are very helpful throught our tour here in the sand box. In 15 years when I retire Im gonna be looking for you for a part time job helping soldiers. sounds exciting. Any ways All the care packages that you send or will send end up in our MWR. There soldiers can grab what they need whether it be hyigene product or just something to snack on. It gets passed around through the company and we enjoy everything. Thx Boatsie for your support once again. You have some more items to send and we will accept anything that comes our ways. so dont hesitate to send stuff. At any given night a 3rd of the company is on missions and love to come back to the FOB and enjoy Boaties treats. Thx again and good luck. Bravo company "Bushmasters" from 1st Infantry Division out of Ft. riley KS, would also like to thank you for your time spent and hope to continue doing business with us. B Co. 1/16 SSG Boykin, Bryan P.
DECEMBER 2006
Hi Gail, I know most of your contact has been with Capt Malin, but as the CASF donation Representative. I wanted you to know about your stockings. We received your wonderful stockings; we have given them to the patients and shared them with our volunteers and the gate guards and the forward located troops that don't get anything. It has been quite an endeavor but your boxes have spread christmas cheer through out Iraq and I wanted you to know that.
Thank you so very much for bring us christmas cheer so far from home.
Best wishes and Happy holidays
Maj Michelle Franco-Cohn 332 EAMDS/CASF Donation/Gift Representative
Thank you very much for the stocking, i loved it very much. i am stationed here at aviano, italy. this will be my first christmas away from home and i am glad to know that there are people out there who still care. it's kind of funny when i was in middle school and elementary school we wrote to people in the military, and i never really understood the gravity of what the smallest notion of good will meant till now.
on behalf of the airman here at aviano i thank you with all of my heart and wish you and everyone a very merry christmas. sincerely A1C JESSIE ANTHONY FRATES
Thank you very much for the xmas stockings. They came in today and I will be handing them out after I get off of work. Merry Christmas to you.
Hey Boatsie. It's Tom Hershfield. The sergeant type. I am from Wheeling WV, and graduated from Wheeling Park in 2004. Judy Hince I beleive gave u my name. I am very sorry i haven't been able to write back but i have been very busy. We had a mission for 5 days straight, came back and slept, then 2 more days, then came back and slept, then 3 days straight, and i am finally getting a day off. Anyways, thank you for those stokcings! They were awesome! I shared them with the guys in my squad and they all agree. Not much to report from here in Iraq. Of course there is getting shot at all the time. Luckily only a few guys in the platoon have been wounded so far but noone killed. And I am praying it stays like that. Anyways I am trying to get leave and come home for my 21st birthday in april for 2 weeks. That would be awesome. Anyways I am going to head to bed. I hope you and your family have a merry christmas. Thanks again for the stockings!!!!!!!! Tom Hershfield
Hi Gail,
You went above and beyond...... I received all those boxes and immediately started handing out your stockings. I don't know if anyone has ever photographed someone receiving your gifts? I went into the break lounge and got their approval before I shot these photos. One of them has very serious injuries to the face. Rest assured we have other patients that are in much more dire need of medical care. Unfortunately, that are not in any shape for me to ask if I can take their photo. Therefore, please understand I don't take photos of patients without their prior approval. We still make sure all of our patients get a christmas stocking.
Words can't express my sincere appreciation for what you and your organization has done for these folks. I truly express my deepest gratitude to you and all your elfs for making our soldiers, sailors, marines and airmen comfortable during the holiday season.
You can circulate these two photos and tell your elfs that your stockings are going to a great use! (SEE TROOP PHOTO PAGE)
Merry Christmas and God Speed,
David H. Malin, Capt, USAF, MSC, CEM
Hi there, I just thought I would let you know that I received your packages today! Wow, they are huge! I am in the process of getting all your great gifts passed out! We really do appreciate this a lot! And I will try and get some pictures to you all of us! Thanks again for all that you are doing to help us! You are our Heros! Glenn
Boatsie, I recieved all the boxes and passed out all the stocking the guys in my unit are thankful for what you have made happen. You have made it a little more like a Christmas for us that are stuck over here. We appriciate everything that you and little helpers have done, once again thank you from the bottoms of all of ours hearts. Merry Christmas and God Bless. Spc Timothy Lamb D 1/5 FA Iraq
I appreciate tremendously your support by sending us boxes. A couple of my soldiers are Dallas Cowboy fans if you have any memorabilia like that it would lift morale making their rooms a little more like home. I appreciate your support. We took some candy out to some kids the other day. You can imagine how much they liked it. We also gave some stuff to some soldiers from the Georgian Army who almost get nothing from home. They were very appreciative. Thanks again, SSG Ronald A Conaway
NOTES FROM 2004-NOV 2006
Boatsie, Thank you so much for being so thoughtful to all of us AMMO troops. Little things seem to mean the most when you are far from home and I really do appreciate what you do. Keep us in your thoughts and prayers. Thanks again. Peggy Thompson Balad, Iraq I.Y.A.A.Y.A.S. Hi Gayle, we received the towel bunnies (absolutely adorable!!); the towels, the Easter Basket goodies, and a box of clothes! You have no idea what a big hit the bunny towels were! We gave them out to all the patients we had in house, and brought a box over to the Theater Hospital for the troops not well enough to transfer home yet. We kept the Freedom Bunnies and used them as decorations, and will box them up for next year’s celebration. I will send more pictures as they come in from different sources! Thank you, Rachel R.A. BRYAN-TEIGE, MSgt, USAF NCOIC, Contingency Aeromedical Staging Facility (CASF) Balad Air Base Boatsie, I first of all want to thank you for all of the boxes of towels that was recieved by me and distributed out to my unit. I still owe some pictures and I will certainly send them in the next few days. I do want to let you know however that I will redeploying out of theater in about 45 days so I would like to ensure that you divert your efforts to other deserving servicemen and women throughout the world. I jsut want to thank you for all that you and the organization does to ensure that our nation's heros are taken care of. You will never know how many hearts you touch, or the greatfulness that comes from her son's and daughter's. I am convinced that we live in the best country not only because of its values, but also because of its people. From all of us on the other side of the "pond" I just want to thank you for all of your support and generosity...please keep up the great work...many people are feeling the fruits of your labor...thanks again...Chad Chad A. Froehlich
Boatsie, Thank you for your support to all of the troops over here! Although our days are never routine, one thing that is constant is the care and support you show us every day. America supports us and I’ll tell you we can feel that all the way over here! Chief Krebs DENNIS M. KREBS, CMSgt, USAF Command Chief Master Sergeant 332d Air Expeditionary Wing Balad AB, Iraq "THE TUSKEGEE AIRMEN WING...THE LEGEND CONTINUES"
Boatsie: First, your first set of boxes came today. You are tremendous. We have sorted many of the items and have them available for our Marines. In addition, we send much of the material right out to our BNs. Remember that unlike some other areas, we are in combat here on the ground, so there is not a lot of time for pics, nor is it necessarily safe. Just know that this is deeply appreciated. When I get back to the states, I am bringing my team around to thank major supporters like you directly and in person. In other words, I know the road to Wheeling!!! Pillows---what a great idea. But indeed in these conditions, DRAB is better. It's a mess out here, hot, dirty and dusty. Drab makes us think the pillow is still clean--hides a multitude of sins after a few months!! Any phone card is one more than we have. You are a blessing to behold. Dale
Dear Boatsie and Crew, For the last 6 months of our tour here, we have received great support from you, your staff, and your many volunteers. We received your Personal Care items so well put together, valentines from the school kids and candy, and the towel bunny’s for Easter. I shared most of the towel bunnies with the patients and staff at the hospital, they were a smash hit. I would also like to say thank you, personally for enclosing some touches of home in those boxes. Little do you know how happy you and your crew made an older Pennsylvanian with the Game News books. Those were like finding gold bullion in those boxes. It is especially nice to see how many folks from the Tri-State area there supporting this effort. I noticed cards from the kids from Washington, PA and Wheeling. I traveled through there from Beaver County, PA many trips to Morgantown, WV to visit my wife’s family. This is especially something for me to folks so close to home supporting us here. We got a lot of support but I guarantee you that no other organization matched what we received from your group and the amount of times. Thank You! We have had Army units out of Washington Pa here and throughout Wheeling and into Pittsburgh. We still have some here with the 463rd Engineer Company that is predominately from Wheeling WV area. It is great to be able to talk with these guys so close from home. On behalf of all our personnel here from the 372nd Expeditionary Civil Engineer Squadron Detachment 6 most from Eglin AFB, Florida, Thank You! MSgt Richard Connolly
Hi, I am writing to say thank you for all the wonderful things that you send to patients. I am a medic at the 332nd CASF in Balad, Iraq. We just received some boxes full of women’s items. The brushes are a nice for the ladies. You don’t realize how important the little comforts are to you that we take for granted at home. TSgt Burke brings a lot of the boxes over for us. We really appreciate what you and your friends are doing. Patients are happy to get sweat pants and sweat shirts. And I am happy to have them available to get them. J Boatsie, Thank you for all you are doing for us while we are deployed over here in Iraq. Everyone here really does appreciate what you have sent us and that people really do care about us over here. I just wanted to let you know that. It sure does make things that much easier for us while we are away from our families. Again. Thank you for everything. A1C Greg Jeffries 332 EMXS Balad Iraq. You hit the nail on the head with that box!!! Thank you so much! SSgt Jason Grimes Boatsie, On behalf of the men and women of the 716 Expeditionary Special Operations Group I would like to thank you for the efforts of you and your volunteers in making the towel bunnies available to all of us out here. It was a really great little morale boost that gives us all the feel of home. More importantly it shows us, that through your selfless voluntary efforts we have your support as we conduct this most important Global War on Terrorism to keep our country free and safe. Please accept our most heartfelt appreciation and thanks. Very Respectfully, Bill WILLIAM S. BERNER, Lt Col, USAF Gail, I want to thank you so very much for what you do for these soldiers. We appreciate it very much. Michael Southern Dear Boatsie, I just wanted to say thank you for the wonderful package that you sent to us. All of the items were very useful and were very much appreciated. Thank you for being so thoughtful and so willing to take time out of your busy schedule to think of us over here in Iraq. We really appreciate all the things that those back home do for us, because it lets us know that someone is thinking about us and appreciates us just as much as we appreciate them. Please extend my sincere gratitude to all those that participated in helping you with such a wonderful gesture. Your time and thoughtfulness is so very much appreciated. Thanks again, A1C Nicole Lear Balad AMMO I Y A A Y A S Hi Boatsie, The men & women of Balad AMMO would like to extend a sincere thank you for the wonderful boxes you sent. They are awesome and we are extremely grateful for everything in them. Thanks so much for keeping us in your thoughts and prayers and taking the time to make life a little better for us over here. Please extend our appreciation to anyone else who helped/donated products. Your AMMO friends, Balad AMMO I.Y.A.A.Y.A.S. Dear Ma'am, Thank you for the items you sent to us. My fellow airmen and I enjoyed them very much. It's always nice to get a little something from home. Best Regards... A1C Rory Schlosberg Hello, I would like to thank you personally. The box full of excellent stuff brought smiles to my face and everyone elses that say it. I appreciate your kindness and I am glad to know that there are people out there like you. Packages like the one you sent always boost the moral around this place. I wish that you could've seen the smiles on the faces of all those who saw your box. Thank you very much once again. With a smile on my face. Sincerely, A1C Scott M. Reed Thank you very much for sending the largest care package I have ever seen down here to us all! A little bit is a wonderful feeling to get but what you sent just makes everybody happy and glad to be serving even though we are away from family, it makes us feel like we actually aren’t that far away. Thank you very much for that kind and generous gift! Please thank everybody that helped you with the package or that donated!! Respectfully, Seth Johnson SrA, USAF MUNITIONS CUSTODY ACCOUNT MANAGER Hello, As I sit here in TN tonight with tears in my eyes I just want to say Thank you from the bottom of my heart... I am the wife of one of the troops that got a bunny, he is and Amn stationed in Balad.... and you may never know how much your caring means not only to those away but the ones of us left here at home as well... I know that personally send alot of mail but I also know that there are alot of our boys who do not get anything... So I just wanted to say your family is in my prayers tonight.. and I wish you all the best.. Thank you... (a soldiers wife) "Life is not measured by the number of breaths we take, but by the number of moments that take our breath away...."
Boy oh boy!!! We just held a promotion formation an hour ago and opened your presents right after formation. You should have seen the smiles on my troops’ faces when they opened those boxes. Smiles and laughter everywhere!!! The team was feeling down and needed something to brighten their day – you did it! Thank you so much!! Thanks for supporting us, OB
Ms. " Boatsie" We have received numerous boxes of highly valued items from you recently. It is truly impossible to express how grateful we are. Your efforts have a direct impact on troop's quality of life. Their stay at our staging facility is far more pleasant because of your efforts. Thank you and may God richly bless you! Dave Muns, MSgt, CASF Balad Iraq Once again a heartfelt thank you for all that you are doing to bring a little bit of home to the deployed troops. Just so you know your kindness and efforts touch many people, many of whom don’t get any packages at all for what ever reason. So the collective efforts of you and your contacts mean so much and are a huge boost to the morale and welfare of our military men and women. As I travel through this country I can assure you we are definitely winning the war on terror regardless of what you hear or see in the news. I see the children waving and giving us the thumbs up on every convoy. I see construction taking place in every village and water and electric being restored everywhere. Majority of the Iraqi people want us here, unfortunately the few that don’t get all the headlines because death and destruction sells newspapers. We will prevail and bring peace to the people of Iraq and this entire region. Believe it or not people like you play a large part in that effort; you give us the motivation and strength to continue our mission every day by the show of your support. Again Ma’am please accept my sincere thanks!
Chief Ferenc

Thank you for your generosity in sending items for wounded " Freedom Fighters". Dear Boatsie,
Thank you for all you are doing to continue to help buoy the morale and well being of the Airmen and soldiers assigned here in Iraq. It means the world to the troops to know that there are people like you back home who value what they do and the sacrifices they make to carry out the collective will of our people. So let me say, thank you and bless you for taking the time to do what you do.
Our Airmen are doing missions from Convoy Operation, Law and Order in places like the Green Zone or Mosul, K-9 teams, Base Defense, Exposive Ordnance Disposal, Infrastructure rebuilding, Close Air Combat Suppport, Intelligence and Surveillance, and caring for our wounded and medevacing them home through or theater hospital. Some of these missions are using our Airmen in lieu of Army and Marine forces - working right along side our brothers and sisters in both services and even some Navy folks here doing customs.
This is my 3rd time in Iraq since February of 2003 when this all began. I believe in the mission and believe that just like Japan and Europe after WW 11 we have a responsibility to leave the Country in the hands of a stable government capable of acting on it's own. The troops believe in that too and their efforts would make you so proud of them it would water your eyes. I think that someday, someone like Tom Brokaw will call them something like "another great generation".
I am pleased to have received your letter and have asked my first Sergeants to help with the effort of distributing the stocking boxes under Operation: Christmas Stocking. We are a " go" for this and would be very excited to help you get these boxes distributed. Many of these boxes will be going to some very remote places in Iraq where our troops work and live.
I will continue to write from time to time as I am so impressed with the effort that you have put forth in the past and are indicating you will put forth now. You are truly a great American.
Sincerely
Chief Layton Clark
I'm the flight Chief for Force Protection here at Ali Base. I wanted to send my thanks to you for the boxes you sent to my troops. It really made their day yesterday when the boxes were opened, like Christmas in October. Thanks again for bringing a little bit of home to the desert.
Lucian Lee Buttel, SMSgt, USAF
Boatsie,
I just wanted to let you know that we received 4 of the 5 boxes yesterday. Everyone was extremely happy when they saw what you all sent. It has been a bit tense here with the Constitutional vote this past weekend but the boxes really cheered us up. I can't thank you enough for what you do. Thanks again, it means alot to know there are people that care enough to do what you do.

Hi Gail,
Just wanted to let you know there are no longer any dirty Fire Fighters here at Balad Air Base, Iraq...We got the box of wipes!! Thanks you so much. Since I have such a large group I am sure if you need to find a home for any other items, we can surely use them here. It is so funny to see the guys cleaning their hands now. Thank you again for all that you do it's people like you that are making such a difference for us all here.
With the utmost respect to you and all stand for Gail.
Yours Steve
Thank you so much for caring. We work hard everyday with the high temperatures and long days and it means a lot that we are in someone's thoughts. Thank you and have a great Holiday Season.
Thanks so much for what you've done for us. You and your group sending these boxes of stuff has been a nice boost to the morale of my troops. However it's not just 'stuff' in these boxes you send. I see concern and love in these packages. I'll bet prayers from your folks are going up too. Many thanks for keeping us all in your prayers. We need this the most.
Most gratefully
Thomas B. Fisher, SMSgt, USAF
Thank you for making our day a whole lot brighter. Just to get that small item that back home is everywhere and here can’t be found puts a smile on our faces! Thanks again

I just wanted to take a few moments to say thank you for the time you and your people have taken out of your busy schedules. The items you have sent have made life a little easier and brought a little piece of home to a place such as this. Again, thank you. May you be blessed, Bennard L. Entrekin, MSgt, USAF Conventional Maintenance 332 EMXS, Balad Air Base, Iraq
Hey Hey, I want to thank you for your continual support as we serve out here in Iraq. Things have been a bit busy in the last 2 week with insurgent activity. My troops had a couple of close calls but they are all doing well. We have received your care boxes and my troops loved them!!!! Thank you so much. Everything is getting used and they loved all the coffee you sent them and they all send their deepest appreciation to you and yours for all that you do for us. We all thank you. Joshua E. Jonas, 1Lt, U.S.A.F Munitions Flight Commander
Hello.. I just wanted to thank you personally for the time and effort you spend sending these gifts out to the troops. Many of us came here not thinking we would need care packages sent to us as a necessity, but that certainly changes once you get here. It’s adds a touch of “Christmas” when you see all these young men and women flocking to these treats as they get opened and scurrying-away with their catch! Some people will repeat-quote “it’s a thank-less job we do here..” but people like you make that a firm untrue.
Thank You again so much from all of us TSgt Elwin Weeks
Hello all =) ,
Just wanted to let you know we here at Balad have received your boxes with great anticipation and excitement as the troops know when I walk in with more than one box that you have given us a little piece of home for awhile. I have received all of your boxes and I wanted to know should I give them out to the troops now or should I wait for Christmas =) I like holding them in suspense a little before you hook them up. I wanted to send you and all your family and friends all the sincerest appreciation for all you do for us while we are out here. All of my troops applaud what you guys do for us and I wanted to send you my sincere thanks for what you do for us. I will make sure I take pictures as I hand out your wonderful stockings which are so decorative to have in such a hostile environment. My prayers are with you and yours, thanks for your support =)

Gail,
On behalf on my organization, we would like to extend a sincere ‘thank you’ for all of your hard work and dedication to the mission at hand. The troops absolutely enjoyed all the gifts and care packages that have come our way throughout our deployment. We will always remember Boatsie’s boxes. You were there through some trying times and your efforts put a smile on our faces! Recently we were directed to pack up and prepare for our return. Our mission was successful and we are on our way back to the greatest country in the world; America! Please continue your efforts for the troops in Iraq and in Afghanistan…they need you. Farewell and Following Seas! Alan Charpentier Gail- We received 12 boxes of pillows today, and they were a huge hit. I still wasn’t able to get pictures today, but I’m working on it. A huge thanks from everyone at Balad Ammo!
MSgt Donald L. Foote
Thank you so much for your effort. Your care packages have been received by us here at the 376 ELRS at Manas, Kyrgyzstan with great appreciation. We all sit around and read the Valentines day cards out loud to one another. It’s a great morale booster to see the kids doing something so patriotic. Our work center plans on writing some of the classes back, I’m sure it will be a great experience for all of us.
Thank you once again for your outstanding effort and wonderful display of patriotism.
SrA John Waszak

Hi Boatsie, I am Sgt Norbert Hock, whom you have been sending my platoon and I care packages for quite some time now. I would like to just say thank you so much for all you and your group does for us over here. There is no way to describe how much it means to us when a total stranger sends us items to help us cope with being so far from home, just to say thank you for our service. It's Americans like your group, who take the bumper sticker literally (Support Our Troops), instead of a fashion trend. We all from 1st platoon 2/28th Military police Co. want to thank you for all you have done and enclosed is a picture of my platoon. I am going to send more of us opening your packages, but this one particular picture means something to us over here and I would like to share it with you. This was the last picture taken of everyone together before we lost some of our guys, and the fact that it was taken on 9/11 made it that much more special. I am the guy in the last row, second from the right side, standing up. Again thank you and your group for all you do for us. You know, no matter how many times I say thank you, it still feels right to put one more in. {SEE PHOTO UNDER TROOP PHOTO'S} Thank you, Sgt Norbert Hock 1 Plt, 2/28th MP Co Ramadi, Iraq
APRIL 2006 All, I wanted to pass on our sincere appreciation for the boxes of Jelly beans we recently received. The cards from BuckeyeMiddle school, Oak Grove Methodist church, Mount de Chantal and you all, are much appreciated. I hope you can imagine the joy your efforts bring to us, the troops here in Iraq. God bless you and those who help you. Thank you, Daron

Gail, We really can’t use the pillows, but I wanted to let you know that we did get the 2 boxes of jellybeans. Thank you for giving the Marines a taste of Easter. They really enjoyed them. We really appreciate you and you continued support. Thanks again. GySgt Richard Schultz Boatsie, We got our first three boxes yesterday. I have to thank you. Please thank everyone who contributed (especially the Deer Jerky!) it was better than Christmas here yesterday. We had something for everyone, the magazines and puzzle books were a huge hit. We all deeply appreciate your efforts and support. I gotta run, but I am going to write you a thank you letter in more detail. Thank you so much Boatsie. Your OUR hero. -Tony
Dear Miss Van Vranken, I wanted to take this time to thank you on behalf of my men. Your gifts have helped keep everyone's morale high. When patriots, like yourself, back the troops through letters, thoughts and prayers it brings joy to our hearts and eases our minds. We are ever grateful to know when we come home we will be welcomed with such open arms and warm hearts. Keep us in your prayers so we can continue to fight for freedom and others to enjoy. Sincerely David I. Temple, 1Lt, USAF
Boatsie, Well we are nearing the halfway point of another deployment. I wanted to reflect on what and who has made this a positive and successful tour so far. Your name quickly came to mind. All of your efforts were certainly not in vain. As you may know, morale is a constant issue on deployment, and you have made my job easier with your thoughtful packages. Everything you sent was put to good use, I assure you. You have made a lot of Marines lives better and put smiles on a lot of faces. I know we don’t take the time to properly thank all of the people behind the scenes who make our life more comfortable, so on behalf of all the Marines of MACS 2 Det B, thank you and God bless you for thoughts and efforts. Semper Fi, GySgt Richard Schultz, Tower Chief, MACS 2 ATC Det, FOB Al Taqaddum, Iraq
Dear America:
They are small, oval, sweet and chewy - and come in all colors of the rainbow. Jellybeans! Yes, jellybeans! They have brought a smile to every Airman and Soldier who has walked into the S-6 Base Housing office on Camp Anaconda, Balad, Iraq since we received our first "donation" from SgtM Majors of the 332nd EMXS in appreciation for housing his Airmen in our housing area. Two boxes, and we became a landmark in the area. Through Boatsie's Boxes, Gail's efforts and a generous donation from the Dollar Tree organization, we have more coming! It never fails, no matter the rank or branch of service, the suprised reactions to the front customer counter is always gratifying. Our counter is where our military fill out work orders for their rooms, ask for directions, get supplies, fill out their hand receipts, get their keys and receive their linen for their beds. And this counter is where we display and offer the jellybeans! It's amazing how something so small and simple never fails to bring a smile of surprise, a look of delight, and of course there is the usual "fishing" around for their favorite color. It's good to see them smile and laugh. Sometimes they come back in as they are passing by on their way to chow, or back from work. They like to grab a handful and chat with the Ex-pat's that staff the housing office, chat about their day and mostly talk about "home and their families". It seems jellybeans bring back great childhood memories. They are amazing, awesome and it's been a privilege and a pleasure to serve them. Thanks Gail! And a warm, wonderful thank you to those of you who choose to donate! Ms. Terry Boswell, S-5/6/7/8 & Army DVQ, S-6 Base Housing Office,
Camp Anaconda, Balad, Iraq
OCTOBER 2006
Hi Boatsie! Just letting you know I got you box today and that it couldn't have come at a better time! It turns out our relief has come in early and we've begun the process of moving out and going back home! We (myself and SSgt Welsh with his dog, Carlos) greatly appreciate all that is done for not just us but soldiers in general! When news reaches us such as "Rev." Phelps and cult's protests against soldiers in general, we joke about it for the most part. This is only because we know we have a MUCH stronger and positive group and veterans and supporters such as yourself and those who visit your site! I cannot even describe what would happen if we did not have individuals such as yourself rooting for us back home; sending anything from the coveted "tub-o-Slim Jims" (we always seemed to find ourselves on the last one the night before your boxes came) to even the most simple card telling us to keep our hopes up (the ones from kids were always my favorites since my son is two and coloring all over the house without me). Please, feel free to post this on your site as a general thank you to everyone who has not just sent stuff to me, but anyone who participates in programs that are dedicated to improving the welfare and morale of any United States servicemember! To be more specific, I hope this "thank you" reaches Ron and Barbara Adkins (Good luck with your new sheepdog and hopefully your fishing trip pays off! I'll be doing that here shortly and cannot wait!) and Russ Hoover (We all got a kick out of the "Car Talk" credits. I remember listening to the show every Sunday on AFN radio when I was in Japan.) Looks like I'm building up some steam typing here, so I'm gonna call it a night before the letter starts to resemble an Oscar acceptance speech. Again, I thank all of you at home who support the United States servicemembers, from the bottom of my heart and may God bless all of you! SSgt Nichols and MWD Baddy, USAF Baghdad, Iraq
Gail, Received your box today…….WOW. It is great to know there are people like you back in the states who care and support us. I can’t tell you how much we appreciate you sending these items to us. Life is extremely rough in Baghdad, Iraq, and I have so many young troops that are in harms way and trying to keep them safe and keep the morale up, can be challenging at times. This box of items will certainly help.
Very Respectfully,
Gregory C. Morgan, SMSgt, USAF

Dear Sirs and Ma'ams,

On behalf of our entire chapel staff and the people we serve, we pray God blesses you for your love and support.
sincerely,

Ms. Van Vranken,
We received all of your packages yesterday evening. Thank you for taking the time and effort to send us those well needed items. We will be sending a vast amount of it down range to those soldiers that have a difficult time getting those types of supplies. I know they well appreciate it as well.
Additionally, please thank all of your employees for Supporting Our Troops. The US and the Coalition forces are doing an outstanding job in this fight.
Thanks again,

"thank you so much for the package you sent. Especially thanks to Patty Ackerman of St. Louis! This package found me well. Everything in the box was great. You guys makes us feel great about being over here; letting us know you care."
Once again, thank you so much.
sincerely

Good Morning! I am just writing this e-mail to let you all know that I have received all the wonderful decorations and Halloween supplies you’ve sent. I’m normally not a very emotional person, but it almost brought tears to my eyes to see how much was sent and how many people must have put work into this. I cannot thank you enough for what you’ve done for me and my fellow soldiers. I am going to take lots of pictures and digital videos too so I will send you those along with my official thanks. Again, thank YOU so much for what you do!
NOELL A. COOK/ SPC, U.S. ARMY/Command Group Secretary/231-4612
To all the people who support Boatsie’s Boxes: I received your generous box in the mail today (the day before Thanksgiving)--box #6060 which is the 2nd box I’ve received during my deployment.
Your kindness has certainly been a highlight during my 6 month deployment to Afghanistan. Knowing that there are people who support the troops regardless of what their opinion is of this war truly makes a difference.
I wanted to also let you know that I will be heading back to my permanent station in Japan in just a few days.
My replacement a Major in the US Air Force and will be performing the same duties as I have been. She’s originally from North Carolina, and is now assigned to a post in the Baltimore, MD area. In fact, we were both stationed together a few years ago at Patuxent River Naval Air Station in Maryland—what a small world!
Again, many thanks for your generosity and support.
